I like the FH2 shader effects but I think the OP refers to summin different

When you get a pair of Binos out they arent instantly focused to the range youre looking at (like now) if you change view from looking at summin 50m away to summin 200m away then there's twizzling (technical term) involved and you have to focus your Binos to see clearly

I don't think the BF2 engine or any shader tricks could allow you to adjust the focus.

The only thing you could do is have a blurred filter pop up every time you move the binoculars quickly.

This wouldn't have the desired effect of finding focus or smoothly adjusting your binocs.

The best you could hope for is a similar effect you can see in those pictures, with a slightly out of focus area around the edge of the screen.
Thats would be an improvement having the outside blurred

If you wanted to use the mouse buttons then mayby you press and hold them down, this way you can have a more acurate focus (lets say 20 settings) Left for focus in, right for focus out.

On the binoculair thing:

I think its bether to just have a shader effect that looks like your focusing,
for like 2 sec, so that would be 2 sec befor you can see clearly.

Same for zooming in with the soflam.. And maybe when you put your binoculairs
away too, to simulate the effect of blinking your eyes to get everything
sharp again.

Very nice effect! Isnt FH2 a BF2 mod? So PR could get it as well. Or maybe PR maps are to big for that?

Yes, it's a BF2 mod, that's what was said earlier and is why it's part of this discussion.

I don't think the size of maps will prevent usage of this filter. However, in Romagnolos thread...

You'll have to ask jodonnel about it though.
I don't really know enough about this to comment any further.

cool, that effect of fh2 would be great on pr, and that thing of
"have a shader effect that looks like your focusing,
for like 2 sec, so that would be 2 sec befor you can see clearly" is a good idea!.
