Conquering muttrah one building or map grid at a time even would be pretty awesome and make much more of a visible changing front line.

I dont think its possible in bf2 but still would be great

Thanks for all the complements ! really like how you guys like this idea. So alot of people are saying how would you do this or how would it happen.

Well, lets pretend that the CO or SL makes a rally point you need to get to, and lets pretend your in a urban type map. Maybe in your squad you don't have men to make a fire base OR if you make one, it can be exposed real easily to the enemy. So you take up a building for defense and planning. And lets say your not that far from your rally point, but you still gotta walk there for awhile. What would you do is you ask the CO to make a temporary fire base on your SL's position, such as a building and for a limited time (maybe 30 mins before you have to move on to your rally point, but that is enough time to get supplied and medical help) and limited supplies.

Now if that's a problem, where the CO can't actually place a fire base (cause who knows it might be on-top of the building xD) maybe each SL, or a SL would ask the CO for some type of satellite or flag to indicate that's a temporary fire base. And you would only get 1 flag or satellite or something to indicate that's a fire base.

Now people say that why not just make the fire-base beside a building ? well the fire base can still be blown up, as with a building, there very fortified. And when you make a fire base, it stays there till someone blows it up. And with a rally point, you get very limited kits and can be easily destroyed. Somebody else said that you can do it inside a building, well what if its a small building and you can't do that, again you place it outside where it can be exposed.

Someone also said you should be able to add saw's to the buildings. its not a bad idea, but the problem is the building is for temporary use. Your not going to be sitting there forever camping with a saw xD The point of the temporary fire-base is to get supplies, plan attacks and counter attacks, get medical treatment and maybe get different kits depending on your plan. And cause i say TEMPORARY - the saw won't be there forever. And who would wanna leave a fully operation weapon ? the enemy could take that weapon and use it against you.

maybe make all the buildings that can be used as forward outposts destrucitibile. or maybe make some type of spawn deal (like a firebase spawn) thats is small and can only be places inside of buildings. the idea sounds nice, but probably wouldnt work well without destructible enviroments.

It would go back to vanilla...? Take a flag/cp and being able to spawn there.

GoreZiad is correct, large cap radii give strategic freedom while ensuring you will still get a contact

spawn houses will focus the battle on one house

any why? ingame house = spawn, but in the context of reality....its just some guy's house. He might have a killer DVD collection, but that's not a good enough reason to fight over it

I really didn't have the idea of it being a fire base people can spawn it. The main reason for having it is to be able to plan, re-supply and get medical help while having cover. Maybe your getting close to the checkpoint but you need to get re supplied and one of your squad mates are injured, you can stop by the temporary fire base to re supply and get medical help and then return to your mission.

make it like 5 buildings to a flag..who ever has the most buildings..gets the flag capped..but you should not be able to spawn on these buildings

and if this does happen it might have to become its own game mode
b/c some maps dont have enough buildings for this to work

Ok i like the idea but i have a few suggestions. This would be like deploying a team rally. The idea is like a firebase that can turn a building into a bunker. Have it so that to deploy it requires 3 friendlies and 3 ammo bags or small ammo box nearby to deploy. It should drop a radio in some kind of open no cover firebase-like structure. This structure must be repaired with the wrench not shoveled. It should have a minimum of 3 units stay within 50m or it breaks down. If shot 3 times in radio it should break down. Deployable should be set up in 35m radius. It should be able to deploy 1 LMGs on the ground or on an object(LMG should have a dismantle button on comrose). 2 breachable door blockers(like furniture, must be built up). 4 kicked over tables for cover. Any other kind of thing that would be used when setting up defense in a building. Cannot be set up within 65m of enemy flag. When within 60m of a friendly or enemy radio rally or bunker you cannot cap the flag. So basically when defending set up one of these in a building and the enemy has to clear you out before capping. When attacking set one of these up for forward spawning and setting up defenses on a neutralized flag.

Well, for insurgency game mode where flags are not being used to determine who wins and who doesnt, you could do the following:

There is flag with tiny capture radius inside building, when you take the flag, it spawns sandbag walls to windows, sandbag fortifications outside the building, MGs to windows. Maybe some Camo nets, and supply crates. And some transports after a while. And ofc team-rallypoint where ppls can spawn. All this would be super easy and simple to make.

And if you add the other suggestion to this one, you could have 2-4 AI Bots defending this "frontal HQ".

Ofc this means that only selected buildings could be captured, and basicly this is same thing as flag-spawning which properly done is very nice way to handle the spawning. But thing is that if we use flags for this building process, all necessary coding is already in the game. Even i as a mapper can do this i think, mostly atleast.

Can these flags be open and not subject to the AAS Order of Battle?
