The way the system works now is fine. I mean, the only reason anyone ever even notices that the RP is down, is when a squad member dies and needs to respawn, and says over VOIP that it's down. So if the SL can get some people and make a new one, then the damn right deserve it. A rally point is just that: a place for the squad to rally at. As such, it can be placed at any time, as often as the squad leader deems neccessary.

This rule is uneeded, if the enemy has taken out your rally in the middle of a firefight, you're generally frakked anyway, dropping a rally in the middle of a firefight is fatally inadvisable to those spawning in. This would as others have said, create a steeper learning curve for new players and add to the level of frustration already associated with death. It is uneeded, and would most likely be detrimental to the community. That being said, a tweek of the rallies is a must, but I have no idea how to do that without making things worse, the current system, while not perfect, seems to balance realism with gameplay.

Rallypoints will under-go changes for v0.8. More info will be posted closer to v0.8 release.

I don't know about you guys, but my experience is usually, the rally point goes down after a firefight trying to protect it. Usually only one or two people survive this firefight, due to it generally getting 'camped' until the enemy get in close enough to actually destroy it.
There is usually not enough people to set up a new rally point (nine times out of ten), so it usually results that everyone has to spawn in at main base then has to run to meet up with the sl or anyone that survived, until there are enough to get the new rally up and running.
Rarely does it happen where 3 get away from a rally point battle, to set up a new one.
The only time a new rally gets set up straight away is when a rally has been 'accidently' discovered and it is destroyed without anybody even realising until it has already gone.

Trauma eh? That's the wink of power!!!

Actually I don't even think that if you replace a rally point you encourage teamwork. When you are running out in the forrest/desert/whatever..
You should run close to your squad leader, if not and you don't get up a rally point, it's because of bad teamwork which kinda couldn't be avoided what so ever.

But yeah, could use a little wait timer for each rally point.
1 minute would be great. But as fuzz said, will have some changes
