mainerror,

i dont want that the thors guys get in trouble..

But i dont know why because of its his own server, and if he want to set up for example a training server...

Then thats a big problem too, how you wanna lern to fly (not even fly arround, i mean combat flying) on a server u have to wait 20 min if you try something and wrek it...

i dont know who has a problem with the changes of the settings.

And the thors guys made that because the have a linux server and on quingling the have no jets.

And so the make the changes...(that what they told me)

But plz tell me who has to say me witch settings i have to run on my own server...

I think if i pay for a server i can set up the game in every setting i want to do that because of its my own...

The Training server often has enough people for a minature practice war, if you ask most are usually up for it.

one more question:

Who made the rules for what settings i have on a "public" server?

This thing with the pw is an old one... Then u post it on your page, everyone has the pw, and erverything is fine...

But i find it stupid that the owner of the server cant set up the settings he want to do...

Look under my name here in the forums. Right there stands Gameserver Admin and guess what server I own. Right a linux server. Do I edit maps without permission of an DEV? No.

Why? Cause in the server agreement is a point which forbids that. Why? simple. Cause the DEVs don't want to have ten servers with ten different versions of the same map and thats good.

It's the same with the vBF2 ranked servers. You are not allowed to edit everything how you want.

And you have to request a license for the servercode.

Get rid of smacktards/TKers/basrapers.

Take away an AAV and AA kit.

Get rid of lag/instakill barbed wire.

Add stabilization.

Then I will be happy with a 20 min respawn, but until then 10 would be good.

The engagement distances are not realistic, the AA is more powerful, there is no gunner stabilization, at least give the choppers a bit of the deadly advantage they deserve. And donīt get me started on the amount of smacktards and TKers, or even the lag that can cripple a team and ruin ones game.

first of all, the tanks have 20 min respawn, the AAVs have a 20 minute respawn the APCs have a 20 minute respawn so why shouldnt the most powerful vehicle of them all have a 20 minute respawn?

"The AA is more powerful"? are you implying that the vehicle thats designed to shoot down air vehicles should not be able to shoot down air vehicles at all?
becuase right now the AAVs and MANPADs are having a hard time as it is even shooting down air vehicles that are travelling straight and arent dropping flares, so IMO they are underpowered, not as underpowered as they were in 0.6 but still underpowered.
The problem that still remains from 0.6 is that air vehicle crews consider AAVs just another kill with a small chance to bite back and not a serious threat that should be avoided at all costs.

/Cp - Chopper and AAV whore.

So much trouble about nothing...

I guess if an dev is speaking with schrotti how to fix the map so that its workin for linux on defaults, the map will be on "PROS" very soon.

But ive to agree to some arguments touching such topics like "PRs MainFocus on Inf", "Spawntimes". But i cant understand why a german server admin is pointing so often on the "server licence"...

We know the "rules" and schrotti just replaced the two jets in order to get a running map on linux... and tested it in the mapcycle.
No one at TB insists on this modified map if we would have an official working "PROS" version for linux.

Schrotti is always ready to negotiate. His intentions were just well meant...and we distance ourself from such 'nilla-modifications.

My two cents to this map:
we need only two choppers and no jets. after the jets are just in the air you have to prepare a 180 cause the map is already at its end
two choppers spawning on their own plattform would need a 4 pilot squad.
one for the dogfights one for the ground. this would be a nice team

Sort of misses the point. I think tanks aswell should be on 10 min respawn.

I am not implying that AA should be weaker, oh no, but respawn staying the same and AA getting more powerful is just not fun, oh, maybe realistic, who knows, but not fun.

I avoid AA at all costs, have no doubt, but on a public server, how do you know where the AAV is, unless you go there? I am talking about a random public game, not the PRT or the "oh so wonderful TG games".

I play PR for fun, and I thought it was meant to be a fun, realism and teamwork based game. But maybe I am wrong, because when half your tanks get destroyed, 2 are being soled somewhere randomly the choppers are TKed and there is a HAT raping everything leaving main, that is 20 minutes of walking around a huge map (donīt get me wrong, I love them) getting owned by god knows what waiting for something to fight back with.

I know everyone says, oh well thats your teams fault etc.. Well everyone seems to be in a dream, because most public games are not like that and I donīt feel I should have my game and time wasted by 31 other people messing around.

Donīt get me wrong, I think PR is going the right way. But people are hardcoded, and sometimes things need to be adjusted for this.
