Or to solve both problems (in a way) you could have Chopper spawn time low but put the kit spawn time high, preventing bad pilots from stealing helicopters constantly as well as providing the punishment for being shot down for regular players.

Hm, I thought there were a lot of choppers...was pretty fun, but maybe just a tiny bit too much. No one seemed to mind losing one.

people would TK other pilots like mad for the kits.
I had the chance to play qinglin on thors a couple of days ago, had a great time flying, I believe i was in the same squad as mora, but not the same chopper anyways: Though 3 min x choppers is nice for chopper whores (like me) It really upsets the balance, both sides only have 3 tanks (the main target for attack chopper) and they are also on 3 min spawn, this makes it a bit overkill and shooting down a chopper aint that easy and whats the point of even dragging that stinger around if the chopper respawns faster than you can shoot. Quinlin is perfect as it is IMO, the choppers are too powerful to have 3 of, and the 3 minute spawntime reminds me of vanilla. |

If I shoot down a chopper I want to be rewarded.
And the exact same chopper flying over my head 3 mins later is not that type of reward I look for. Choppers and such are valuable assets for the team. Their loss has to have some impact. |

i see just as many smacktards in vehicles in 0.7 as 0.5. More in some cases. 10 minutes is plenty of time to have wasted because of being stupid in a vehicle, 20 minutes is just too much to want to fly a vehicle. I usually just go on the ground now. Its just too easy to have your time wasted. lag, tking with an errant SAM, a poor landing, or just getting beat is just not worth the time. and in all seriousness, the way the vehicles and aircraft are in pr theyre just not worth 20 minutes. 10 is plenty.

I think the spawn times are fine personally. I hear so many people crying about waiting for assests and just like BF2 10 people wait for 1 helo to spawn destroying the team dynamic of the game. I see no reason to change the spawn times. I have said this so many times on voip while playing and I'm quiet sure this is what the game developers intended. You get one chance in 20 minutes to fly. The spawn time is to stress the importance of the assets available. Want 3 helos and 2 jets in the sky all the time, hit BF2. This problem will never go away on public servers sadly but that's the way she goes. I still play despite losing half of a team on Al Burj as they are all waiting to fly transport helos. Sucks but I don't pay for admin rights so I play the only way I can, for free. lol
