BTW, why is it called the Snatch version? Because it was used for personnel capture raids in NI? Because in the states a "Snatch Wagon" means something completely different.

It was originally used in Northern Ireland by the Army to carry 'snatch' teams who grabbed local players and arrest em.

Yeah your right - they where originally used in NI - during riot control - there would be a line of Brit soldiers, helmets shields etc etc, and they would have a "snatch" party - who would open the shields "snatch" a rioter - and throw him in the "wagon".

Gaz - are you with the TA then? We had a few NI guys attached to us (Regulars) on our last telic tour, all QOY, or the old "Black Horse" I think, had 5 of them in our J2 Cell and CIMIC

That's not quite what the term means here. It means a vehicle that can help you get to that point, if you catch my drift, rather than one you can "do it" in.
