I think it could be interesting if you could do someting like place C4 on a flag and temporary disable it (eg: turn it grey). But that it would automatically go back to the side that owned it after a server side specified amount of time.

Without Commander assets the SF class has less of a mission. If they could blow up a flag, denying enemy spawning for a period of time, then that could augment an assault in the way being described.

Perhaps it could require more than the standard loadout of C4, meaning 2 SF would have to get behind the lines and knock it out. Thus making it require more teamwork and be much less common than if just a single guy could grey out a flag.

While I do like AAS the way it is MUCH more than vanilla BF2, I do find that there is advantage to "behind the lines" activities that are present in "real world" but lacking in AAS.

Again I think one of the plans is to remove the SF since there usually isn't an SF class. Special Forces troops, if I'm not mistaken, usually train their own medics and demo guys and so on. So really the SF not having anything to do wouldn't be a problem. Although disabling enemy equipment is a very interesting idea.
