It takes about 5 sec. To start the server so it says 0/128, 0/110 you just force #of players in thecommand line to launch bf2 ded. server. Not to mention bf2 servers won't use muliple cores on a cpu, so you'd need probably 4ghz+ processor to host 80-90 players. I have noticed watching cpu usage on our pr servers in the past , going from 50/64 (active players) up to 64/64 the cpu usage nearly doubles.

I work for a Datacenter, I have a few servers at my hand to mess around with. Including a few very powerful setups, if anyone wants to mess around with player count let me know.

Yes, well actually server is started only with +mod parameter.. ..and this is not any kind 5sec trick.. it took very much of my time to do this!

We just need to hit that 64 line now.. is there anyone around who really like to test this server??

Server is running on Linux CentOS 5.2 64bit with Intel E6750 4GB ram
Internet connection is 100/100Mbit dedicated to server from 1GBit ISP Switch.

We would probably have to set up something official to get everyone to join just expecting 64 people to hop on right now isn't that likely.
