best part of your idea is moving the pilot kits and other vehicle specific kits away from the main base spawn....that would save alot of headaches IMO...
hmm...just wonder how we could do it smoothly... |

Yes it would... when game starts everyone runs to get those kits and it's a damn mess:
- you request a quit but other guy picks it up instead - you have 10 pilots for 3 LB (and only 1 can really fly) - you have 3 snipers that don't know how to use their kits properly - you get 1 heavy AT that will probably run towards the action and loose the kit. By using a specific area with a destroyable asset that supplies these kits with a certain delay of X minutes after map start and X seconds after kit request, you would be able to control a little bit more how the kits are delivered. About the POW concept, every US soldier would spawn without a weapon... so you wont have players spawning with weapons in the prison. IronTaxi, i'm still waiting for your PM regarding the map bugs... hope you didn't forget. |

well
i have a idea for a great map-... the map is night.. dense forest.. like mestia or ghost train The American / British forces have 4 spawn points. The Rebels (no insurgents) have a complete installation of a great fortress abandoned by URSS This have AA guns on the rooftops, if its possible search lights.. so the can iluminate a guy and .. well the AA take his part The rebels have bunkers, watch towers and underground complex The allies side have to.. destroy 1 of 4 entranses.. or the can enter from a ventilation tunnel The POWS can spawn.. just a kit on allied side who says.. POWS and the graphic will be DRESSING The spawn on the fortress at the jails.. The Rebels have to patrol around the complex If the leave the complex.. they have 5 seconds to enter.. this can be used.. i see it on RAID ON MOSQUE And if te rebels kills a POW.. the lose -100 tickets. check my idea |

Imagine yourself spawning as POW. Have a retarded Militia team? Sit there for the whole round, while you were coming to have a nice round of PR. This wouldn't be a good idea at all in my opinion.

Make the P.O.W models look more like they are slightly injured with wound dressings patched on and strip the helmets, ammo pouches and equipment completely off them instead of them having the civilian clothing which are mostly used for the Insurgents.

If you use the idea of P.O.W's trying to escape aswell then they won't be there just waiting to be rescued...
Don't use area limitation for the P.O.W's to be, simply use metal fences and walls that will limit their movement. If you use a limited area then they could never leave the prison.. Prisoners often get shovels to work inside the prisons on specific places, if you can get a pickup kit with the shovel on those places of the prison and you use wholes below the fence blocked with dirt like the one from lower part of the bunkers then prisoners can try to dig their way out.. The prison guards will have to keep an eye out for inmates trying to escape aswell as for the rest of the team trying to save them. Qwai River would also work for this with a few changes. Don't use night as it will be too difficult to see anything and prisoners wont have NV... If you want a type of light to help the stealth assault of the prison just use sundown type of light... almost night but still some light for you to see a few meters... or if you want, you can use some type of weather like rain, snow or fog to help in the same way as low light condition would. I think that it wouldn't be too difficult to do and you could even use a map that already exists and change it for this concept... that is if the mapper agrees or not. IronTaxi or one other PR mapper, what do you think of this? |

POWS.. the pows target is stay there.. and scape.. the weapons of the are.. dessings.. i dont know why the shovels..
well the night is hard.. because you fire yours POWS the problem.. if a soldier - whit - a - gun spawns on the jail.. he will kill guards on proximity and thats not fair.. one part of my idea. requested 1 week ago was the silensed guns.. MP5 silensed, pistols,,, This map will be tactical.. Maby more dark than Sunset City... more dark..or the "Operation Clean Sweep" from vanilla.. but more dark.. i mean, seculrity houses.. rooms, watchtowers etc etc I think for Allies side this kits.. now i thinked on the ALERT This is simple.. on some places of the fortress.. little buttons on wall can be used by insurgents.. it sounds.. a alarm.. when a guy was spotted the alarm sounds The problem.. is the "retard soldier" he will kill prisoners, he can leave the fortress and start camping as Allies side he can broke the stealth and start moving alone blah blah Yes please mappers.. lets post about this.. |

No soldier will spawn with a gun in the prison since they all spawn with a kit that only has a shovel... every soldier on the US has to get his kit after spawning. This would require that normal kits would be available for pickup tho.

Well, they think abaut fractions. Maybe multiple fractions playing on the same map. So the POW would be quite possible when that will be present. Prisoners could then have multiple kits, one will have shovel the other one somethin to dig in the wall, others somethin to distract enemy and so on and so on. They spawn inside prison. Another fraction is to free the prisoners. And another maybe (thread of MAYBE) BIG maybe it could be new mode. objective mode. Each fraction would have difrent objectives to complete. But Im tired already and maybe (another?) I dont know what Im talking

I think the best way would be to have none of the players spawn as POWs but they would just be static models (maybe some animation). Then when the rescuers reach the prison they could "pick-up" the POWs, that is some player runs up to the POW model and hits "pick-up kit" button and then he becomes the POW. Then they would have to go back.
It would be an awesome game type. |
