I'm almost positive that the BMP in SF was a BMP1 not a BMP3 because the 3 has a smoothbore cannon, an autocannon, and coaxle MG. The one in SF obviously does not have an autocannon so I wouldn't call it a stretch to give the insurgents/militia/MEC such an outdated piece of equipment.

The BF2: SF manual says its a BMP3.

But its damn poorly implimented one.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

I'd love to see the MEC get a properly implimented BMP3 (with smoothbore [with ATGMs], 30mm autocannon and PKT) if only I didnt know that there would be cries of "imba!" from a vocal minority within the PR community.

Me too, I would also like to have the BMP-2 or BMP-3 replace the BTR-90 for the MEC, as the BTR-90 is very unrealistic. Only limited amounts have been produced for the Russian (possibly Ukriane as well) Army only, unlike the BMP-2 which there are numerous amounts in the Middle East (there are BMP-3s as well, but they are mostly in the UAE).

Well, the lack of AT missiles is easier to explain on the BTR-90...

It would be nice to see some actual IFVs in PR, as that part of modern warfare is somewhat underrepresented at the moment (Warrior is practically the only one). However, it seems to me like even if BMP were to be implemented, it would be stripped of its missiles, and would serve in a role similar to that of current APCs. I guess I just want some Bradleys, riding out with M1A1s in recon role, scouting ahead and engaging targets with their TOWs.

I agree with you daranz, there is no distinction between APC and IFV, although I believe that there is room enough in this mod for both. The US Army definatly needs bradley fighting vehicals when it is introduced and the BMP-2/3 to go along with it as its counter balance.

I'll have to check globalsecurity.org to see if there are any tracked chinese IFVs.

I think that the BMP-2 without ATGM would be the best option, as the BMP-3s cannon would be to unbalancing and there is the fact there are many more BMP-2s in the Middle East then there are BMP-3s.

Also, you asked for a Chinese IFV: http://www.sinodefence.com/army/armour/zlc2000.asp
