Seriously, if you are right on the spot, then why do you need a beacon? All that time to model or impliment something for what? To make it easier and eliminate the skill involved in finding them? And the DEVs have already said that they will be fixing the exploit as well. Even with a subpar or horrible squad, we can still take out a rally point with ease. If the rally point is one of your own ways of spawning, why should the enemy get a leg up in finding it? Also guys remember, is having a beeping sound or light "reality?"

Soldier, please the read the comments more closely before you start assuming that you are the only one who knows how to play the game. I believe the point of this thread has turned towards the situations where the rally point is FULLY glitched into a building or other structure thus exploiting its purpose. Spotting rally points as a boat is a great technique employed by most knowledgeable players...however, I am not sure how this helps to locate and destroy a rally point that is 100% invisible. I'm glad to hear this RP glitching will be fixed in a future release as this is no longer a rare case. I know I have placed a rally with my back against the wall resulting in it being completely undetectable even for me to request an officer kit from. So for those of us not as well versed as you at seeing things which cannot be seen this will be a welcome fix.

Actually, my suggestion (walkie-talkie model placed on top of the backpacks with radio noise) was never intended to be a fix for finding glitched rally points. I was aware that the devs already had a fix for this planned for 0.6.
Most of the time, you can easily see a rally point if you are near it, for example if it is just hidden behind a static, so it making a noise is an irrelevance. A rally point can, however, be hidden in long grass (e.g. Mao Valley) or perhaps other places on the map where it isn't glitched, but can't be seen, even from a very short distance, unless you are looking at a very precise angle (The maps/statics were not designed knowing that RPs could be placed on them). In this case, it is so well hidden that a squad could walk past in line formation, each standing 10' apart, and it never be found; this is the situation my solution seeks to prevent. I know I've even run around like a headless chicken after I've spawned on my own rally point, trying to find it so I can request a kit on Mao, just as another poster has. |

The verbal brutality found on forums is often reminiscent of the physical brutality found in first person shooters, except that forums allow those with slower reflexes to join the carnage without a handicap.

Spotting boats is a good trick and by now most people know what it means. Though adding a Rally Point to the comm menu wouldn't do any harm and shouldn't be to hard. What do you think?

Yeah, RP spot is really needed though boat is fine too.
Even if there is no voice actors, 'enemy rallypoint spotted' as a text and icon in minimap would make it a bit more sane. |

I dont agree with the main idea but a marker for FRIENDLY RPs may be a little handy.

Speaking of warning signs, has the enemy mine warning been removed from vehicles in .6 and can someone link me a change log for .6 (not the wiki one since it's not complete).

I think the radio chatter is a great idea for RPs. However it should only be heard at close range, as suggested.
