...for me its mainly a copy of PR,... i think they should join PR and help here instead of making a own "light PR version"... but never mind my statment

Every Friday night we are holding a "everyone join the official IS server" event so would be nice if we could get people playing go to Insurgent Strike | A Battlefield 2 Realism Mod to look it up

yes I will mind it and so does the IS dev team. To set the record straight this is not PR neither is it trying to be in the mod description on any website it does not say "trying to be pr" or "following in PR's footsteps" we are going for realistic gameplay but in a different way to how pr does it

I retract my statement, this isn't what I'm looking for at all.

Tiny View distances, EA models everyhwere, 2d sights, spawnable unlimted snipers who are simply point and click, c4 that is some kind of 4th July firework, 1maned vehicles without zooms or ammo types, EA skins, EA SA80, EA Challenger 2 (a heresy, sorry) Looking at the british skins/model I can't actaully say anything good, The maps themselves could be fun, but they are so hampered by the view distance there really isn't much point. If you took the maps and added more details they would make lovely additions to PR (yes I know u aren't trying to be PR, but mapping can be good or bad, and I'm putting this in the 'not good' category regardless of PR), but in their current state they are bland, especially with teh lack of enterable statics.

The only thing that really interested me were a couple of the sounds, and the fact the Iraqi army Vs insurgent was featured. all the rest was just vbf2 with new maps, a couple of differnet weapons (some of which look bad, e.g. Brit sniper) and a couple of different sounds. It could have been the happy medium between vbf2 and PR...but I think I won't be touching this version again. Maybe next version. Alot of people will enjoy this mod, but not me.


EDIT, I did like that a start menu comes up when you start the mod (before BF2 loads) with links to updated versions etc. That was a nice touch.

Ok happy some of you enjoy the mod, now to back up spkyer, IS doesnt have the goal of becoming the next "PR". Stop trying to force that into are mouths, we dont want to. And i would like to ask Project Reality Developers and Moderators to keep an eye on this thread for us IS Devs.

thank you very much for making our mod sound like total sh*t, what was pr in its first release? a few weapon changes to accuracy and damage and no new maps. We plan to limit the snipers in the next release, add aas, make more maps (bare in mind most of these maps are community made as we dont have the workforce to chuck out new maps) , add new weapons and much more we have ONLY just acquired a modeller and that is why they are all vanilla models

And? Its not PR, as you've said many times. I said I might try future versions.

Believe it or not, I said the same thing about PR back in the day. Had a laugh on a server or two, but didn't have it as my main game until .5 or so.

It goes without saying that future versions can bring whatever, but I was talking about this version. Most of what I said was factually true, apart form the map stuff which is my opinion. I'll happily try future versions of your mod. But atm its not what I'm after, as I said. I'm sure plenty of people will enjoy it already.

Edit, doesn't BSS allow you access to models made by its mods?

no we have to negociate and understandably give something in return most of the time and atm we dont have anything to give because we have just started out
