I don't play as SL much but I absolutely love having a strict SL. Reason being is that most of the time they're the good squad leaders who actually use tactics instead of just straight up attacking the enemy.

I prefer my SL to be kind, but enforcing. Honestly, if my SL completely looses his cool over a game, I don't want that SL as my SL. Odds are that if he looses his cool just being the SL, he'll loose his cool when things get tough.

Love that.

Also the "your call of duty reflexes" made me laugh so fkn hard.

When I get into playing PR more, I will have this text lying next to me and read it out.

Haha, this is the way to do it! We are playing army games, why the F use hippie tactics?

Use mumble nubs.

This is the correct approach imo. Cool and methodical, rational decision maker who takes all factors into account including squad members and their input. True alpha if I may say. One that makes sure that everyone has a place and meaning in group. Leaders like this are rare but usually very successful in pr and life in general.

Leaders like original poster is describing are ones who may lead others successfully if they're leading weak minded drones but generally aren't respected or liked. So they fail more often. That's how I see it.

at 1:20, approximately when most of the squad joined already

"Alright you lot. Don't try to call me by my in-game name, refer to me as Squad Leader. I'm going to set down some ground rules. No sniper kits, No marksman kits, No HAT kits. *player X* Takes the medic kit.

None of you are to go further than 5 feet away from me unless directly ordered to by me, or you'll all be killed. I see anyone isolated from the squad, and i'm kicking. No chances, No exceptions. No, one grenade is not going to take us all out. I promise - and if it does, well life sucks.

Do not fire unless fired upon, or receiving permission from me. I am not giving up our position because of your worthless no-life call of duty reflexes. Anybody shoots without letting me know, and I'm kicking. And last but not least, Do not talk unless you're calling out contacts, asking for clarification, or for permission to fire. I don't want to hear your suggestions for what we should do next, because i'm the leader here, not you. Lock 'n Load f*ggots."

sounds harsh, I know - But it's the only way to set pubbies straight. kick em in the ass. I'm not particularily honest in what i say - I'll normally give 2 strikes before I kick for something like firing without permission.
Trust me, guys. Ever since I started talking like this to my squad in the beginning of the round, It has gone beautifully, and the only times they fail is by my own mistakes.
I can understand where you are going with this and what you have been through. You simply want a squad to be doing the same objective at all times. Remember that this is a game, and as realistic as PR goes, people playing this are not all military servicemens. Try to be relaxed, friendly, and promote teamwork rather than trying to force it upon your squad. Honestly there are players that just don't follow orders and tends to play PR like vanilla, but it is always your choice to keep who you want.

I agree with this. Though I'm a softy at heart so I can't be too harsh... but yeah a good squad leader is one that makes his squad efficient and controls them properly.

My favorite term to stop too much social chatter (which is fine during a forced march) is the cliche; "Stop playing grab ass boys."

Gets a chuckle maybe and they know that they need to listen or focus.

Other than that the basic stern warning is good to prevent poor behavior and the good ol' kick in the ass is always a last resort. You don't join my squad unless you want to be part of a team that works together and to the mission/goals I assign or am assigned to.
