4. The Radar-Alert goes BEEP BEEP BEEP! WHAT DO YOU DOO?!?!
A: You drop flares, thinking that your 1337 skillz are gonna save yo ass like in vbf2

Sometimes this is the right answer...

Sometimes i got a gunner who thinks he is the uber pr0... I really stand still in the air 0 km/h at all and he cant hit a "NOT MOVING" tank with his 7 hellfires... And than we getting shoot by the 50mm than i drops flairs (for security maybe there is a AA near him...) while im flying back to base i yell at him this:

JUMP OUT WE GONNA DIE. But we are not even smoking... Than i get a gunner who knows what he is doing... BUt mostly i yell at them or/yell to them because they dont even use VOIP...

Actually, flying high is the ultimate key to success, I'm actually a very good Apache/Havok Gunner, I'v hit targets 1.1km away because my commander marked it, we got within range, but we were 400 altitude, i kept screaming to my pilot to get around 380, because then really, they cant see you good, with that 1.1km I got 4 kills, A tank and a APC we're right beside a supply drop, and a vodnik was there and 1 person was reloading his gun, 4 kills with 1 TV, height is the ultimate ftw.

I have been flying to great success at high altitude, there is no reason to fly low. Only once the area is clear of vehicles can you desend and engage infantry. If there is an enemy heli in the air, go even higher. Remember attack helis and AAVs are priority, in fact I don't go near AAVs unless my gunner is l33t or they have been taken out.

PS: I am always looking for a good gunner to practice flying with! Add alex4176 on xFire if you want a game!

I like the guide. I find it...informing despite not ever piloting since release .godknowswhat

However, now I have some new knowledge to implement if I chose to do so.

I like the guide, it is fairly easy to understand however I feel that swearing isn't always the best option. In manuals and guides do you find swearing? Swearing expresses emotion (thats a good thing) but it does have its place.

Unlike some people on the forums, I would also suggest that you do learn about realistic comms and use them. Realistic comms SHOULD be easy enough to understand with little time and effort - they can also be more precise and save time. Even phonetics can be useful if you can't hear what someone is saying because of noise or there voice is unclear.

Also, for the pilot to feed the gunner with flight information is useful and realistic. When a pilot feeds altitude information you know that you should make 'adjustments' to make sure you are prepared to engage at that level or you can tell the pilot that your field of fire is useless or sufficient. Flight path feeds will also allow the gunner to assess the likely direction of enemy threats and prepare to 'counter' them.

Altitudes are so important. Remember the DC mod for 1942?

Tell me who survives longer and gets more kills?

The A-10 pilot who thinks you use the bombs (no guidance system in the game, also means you have to fly directly over target) and flies at low altitude for an easier shot to release the bomb and taking evasive action when neccessary.

*I use the term bomb because there is no guidance system and therefore I am not prepared to use the terminologies of rocket or missle.

OR

The A-10 pilot who is not even visible at ground levels, who is in the skies (still rarely visible to enemy aircraft) and who only lowers altitude to enage with cannon (doesn't require you to fly directly over the target and can be effective travelling at higher speeds) or evade threats.

Its not rocket science.

Please keep up the good work emnyron.

Grow up guys. Playing musical chairs with the squad leader position isn't going to get anything done. Try it out! It's not that scary. Just think about it as sex. You might be nervous the first time but you're partners are guarenteed to like it and hey, you might even be good at it!

Taking longer than I expected, I think il finish 0.7 guide sometime this week.
And to all of you com nuts, the reason why Ive not prescribed a full detailed comsys as they use in RL is partilay becuse I never server on a dammed airport, I never served on a darn flying thing.

Also becuse Id rather allow this guide to be usefull even for those who just fly once in a while, Mkay?

Anyhow, this week, 0.7 guide(done) shoud be finished this week.
