Exclamation How NOT to be a bad passenger on a transport chopper.

It has come to my attention that the amount of people who think its fun to muck around in transport choppers. Well it's not fun. It distractive, its noisy and it might bring down the whole chopper. So here I have, before all you bad passengers the guide to:

How NOT to be a bad passenger on a transport chopper.

#1. Please DO NOT jump on top of choppers, or ANY part of the chopper, this may lead to an accidental (or intentional) TK, thus fustrating the pilot.

#2. Please keep hands, feet and objects inside the craft at ALL TIMES, unless directed so by a nearby officer or pilot. The act of throwing grenades, C4, SLAM and any other similar action may lead to death of nearby friendlies (Or if you're lucky, hostiles )

#3. If gunning, please do not wave and fire the gun like a frekin maniac! This can give the pilot a sudden migrane, thus making him crash the chopper. Only fire when told, or If you see a potentional threat.

#4. Please move out of your seat ONLY ONCE the craft has come to a complete stop! Bailing before the craft reaches the LZ, will most likely make you dead, either by being squished by a 4 tonne craft or impact.

#5. TO SQUAD LEADER PASSENGERS: Please give the pilot co-ordinates to the LZ, tell commander where the LZ (If it is in a dedicated squad), mark it with a move marker, and if the commander is willing, he will give it to the pilot.

#6. OPTIONAL but recommended: Only board the craft IF the pilot is a dedicated squad (something like 'AIR' or 'CHOPPER').

I hope this guide has helped you, How NOT to be a bad passenger on a transport chopper. Post your suggestions as well if you have any.

- Post your thoughts.

I like to give pilots an all-clear signal by the means of the commo rose "Go go go!" command. Basically, once everyone is out of the chopper I use the command to let the pilot know that he can leave. It's especially useful to Merlin pilots, and most pilots seem to understand my intentions without me having to explain what I'm trying to say.

Two more tips: if you think the LB didn't see you...don't try shooting at it to draw the pilot's attention. The four people in it did not like me being headshotted, which led to them crashing to their deaths. Also, when you bail out, go prone instantly. If the chopper does move, that may keep you alive.

Tell me about it. I was flying the MEC light chopper on Kufrah once, and was approaching the landing pad in our base, to repair and rearm. Someone (who shall be left unnamed) was incredibly bored in the base, waiting for a tank, so he shot me with his rifle 3 or 4 times. This resulted in my chopper dropping out of the sky like a rock and blowing up, giving him a TK.

#4 The chopter does NOT need to touch the ground fo you to bail out. Theres no need for the chopter to hover those extra seconds it takes for it to touch the ground as it tend to atrackt a heavy AT missile.

When you get out of a Merlin, run away from the chopper.... or trust me, you're dead. Us pilots don't have a magic mirror telling us some guy is standing around like a retard behind the chopper.

One thing about Merlins, you bail out inside, use the ramp to gtfo, before the pilot moves too much and TKs you.

And note to Merlin pilots; do NOT take off as soon as every passenger leaves their spot inside the chopper.
Happened on open beta, guy sees us leaving the seats and takes off, TKing the whole squad

I personally don't take off as soon as all spots are empty, that's obvious. But some people... Wow. They stand around like a complete moron and you take off, accidentally "hit" them and they punish you.
