-80% of the time a transport pilot WILL come back for you. no need to rush, most maps have a timer of at least 2-4 hours. it only takes about 50 seconds for a good chopper pilot to insert a squad into an area, shooting your H-AT or 1337 special forces rifle does not speed up the process.
-most pilots are fine with ride-alongs even if they're not doing anything for their team, but for the love of god tell the pilot you won't be getting off. most pilots do care about their passengers and want everyone to get to their desired location. |

To add to the list:
It is the pilots job tog get you there, and eep the chopper and you as a passanger alive. But it is done on the PILOTS TERMS! He is the one with best overview of how the helicopter will behvae, and how much it can take. So, where I want to go with this is basicaly: Don't be an arse and shout at the pilot if he is not picking you up instantly, or 5 minutes later, or 5 minutes again. Chopper could be full, LZ hot, etc. You may not know of various problems becasue you're not flying a big noisy beast that attracts everyones attention, and it's pretty hard as a pilot to type out a 5 page explanation to why he can't land where you want. Don't tell him he is a bad pilot unless he onbviously is, ie. crashing it very quickly. This happend ot me a few minutes ago while flying the Merlin on Basrah: I got the chopper, there was already a pilot in it, but someone teamkilled him (wtf?) so I took it becasue I had made a Merlin squad. So I took off, with 3 gunner/engineers and cruised around the battlefield looking for ammo dumps. Soon people were calling transport requests and I picked them up. One squad wanted to go to the island east of the main city. I told my squad mate over VoIP to tell them to get ready for water jump, the LZ was hot on the island, so I had to do a water drop. It went well, untill the squad leader wanted back in, I have no idea why, so I tried to hover for about 5 minutes with the ramp down, so he could get in. Finaly he got in but there wasn't enough space for him actualy sitting in the helicopter because some other blue guy nicked the last slot. So he decided to just stand inside. Ofcourse he got killed when I took off and ofcourse he punished me. Then he spawned at Airport and wanted another ride, so I picked him and his squad up. This time he wanted to go to F-6, inside the city. So I took him there and just when I was about to give the go order we got hit by an RPG, and the technicals opened up! My engineer, a guy from iGi (can't remember name sorry) just managed to save the beast and we barely ade it outta there. Then they blue guys in the helicopter started shouting at me for being the worst pilot ever and that I was just waisting the helicopter and I should go back to playing vanilla. Lots of great stuff. I got so tired of them and the round was almost over, so I just landed where they wanted, just to prove to them that I was right. The helicopter got badly damaged and I lost control and hit the mosque with it. Morale is: LET THE PILOT DO IT HIS WAY, OR YOU'LL MOST LIKELY GET KILLED! |

Re: How NOT to be a bad passenger on a transport chopper.
And for the love of god dont fire the miniguns on a BH at nowt, then when we do reach the enemy NO AMMO, the number of times ive considered jumping out and leaving the *&^%er to fall to his death, i then recover myself and start acting more mature again.
But i really will the next time someone does it because even though he was bored he wouldnt get out at the LZ, OMFG. Rant over, sorry about that. Cry Wolf |

Re: How NOT to be a bad passenger on a transport chopper.
I think a lot of people don't realize that when you warm up the miniguns on the blackhawk it sounds to everyone else that you are shooting. SO please! Don't warm up the guns! They start firing within 1 second anyway.
Yea, I also hate people who don't care how hot the LZ is as long as their squad can get out in time, as if the chopper pilot didn't then have to make it out of there without getting shot down. |

-If people keep firing the miniguns and don't respond to my warnings I take out my pistol and shoot them.

Re: How NOT to be a bad passenger on a transport chopper.
I hate when your gonna do a waterdrop for somebody, it takes them like 10 seconds to figure out their supossed to bail out.
And when pilots think they are high enough for them to jump out but u still get hurt. Or people cant land on a perfectly fine area |

Re: How NOT to be a bad passenger on a transport chopper.
When exiting from a transport chopper at LZ, I always shout out a "thanx", then call out "go go go" (to the pilot) when I'm sure all the passengers are at a safe distance, some of whom usually hit the deck.

Re: How NOT to be a bad passenger on a transport chopper.
There are a few things you can do to get ppl to stop shooting the miniguns: If ur not already in hostile area, just yell Negative via com rose and hover or turn around. Then after they stopped continue going for the LZ, if they start again, rinse, repeat. Some ppl actually get it and type "stop shooting the minigun" in my place.
A more radical solution for all the hardcore kiddies out there is flying to the maps border and hanging ur rear into the deserter zone while being careful of not deserting urself. U dont have to actually let them die, but its a good lesson nontheless. |
