I think the main point of this whole thread is "Discover a new way to play Insurgency mode"

one thing that may be handy is if you get the main routes get on a roof lie down. Have a rpg kit myabe like 2 people on other roofs close by to that road. When a squad or vehicle comes past then ambush them. This generally works quite well.

sometimes, if you build a hideout in a irrelevant place and pretend that there is a cache at that location. then your goal becomes to kill as many blufor as possible and waste as much time as possible as the blufor search the irrelevant location for a cache that doesn't currently exist.

Very nice "fun" guide which more people should read.
And i´m agreeing with cyberzomby, if US try to move in CQC without veichle support, they are quite easy to pick without AKS-74u. But what i think is most annoying thing on INS maps is the lack of Field Dressing and Medics. And of course the lack of Teamwork which i find &%#)%%#"(/¤?¤ in a Teamwork Mod. Edit. And i love playing sneaky. :P |

I go alone as sapper. Try to find the most roads that are most used by the enemy, find some good cover & escape routs then plant the mine, grenade traps close to the buildings where the infantry might walk by and just wait there.
I dont open fire upon 1 enemy that walks on that street cus i never know whats coming behind him, and if i cant kill him he will hide and call for help. So yeah, i choose a road that is frequently used by the enemy and il ambush it Of course it dosent work always, i woke up with 4 squads walking on the road i was at once, at least i scared them, got few of them with the grenade traps and from a APC explosion cus of the mine, but i was alone and got killed fast. But to take down so many alone you need to wait first, scout the area, and plant traps where you are 100% sure that they will fall in ur traps. |

Aaah, sneaky gameplay, hehe love that.
You get a new feeling of being alive in PR since there is no RP and you just walked/sneaked/crouched between enemy armour/sqds for 25 min. But then you find a FB and take it out, run away asap cuz the enemy will rebuild it - you help your team since at least 1 SDQ is busy looking for you. But you are already completely somewhere else. Love sneaky gameplay in PR because it just works ! I tried it on Fallujah as US, will try the same as INS. It's more fun for me to sneak around, an enemy SQD just behind the covering wall, adrenaline push ftw. When I play like this I don't care about the flags/caches, as long as I feel like Sam Fisher. |

I think the funnest way to play insurgency is playing as a convoy of some sort.
Bomb car convoy, Technical convoy, hell even a motorcycle convoy. When you come driving at a set of armor pieces and you're 3-4 bomb cars deep, they tend to get a little worried and start running. Or maybe escort big red with a couple technicals. Ran a technical convoy the other day and we racked up nearly 50 kills in that round. First 2 minutes of the round we came across 3 rovers that the brits were dumb enough to have unmanned while searching for the cache. We quickly killed about 9 people in that little fight. Convoys are highly effective and a fun way of playing insurgency. |
