C4 works well in conjunction with mines when playing as conventional forces.
Last night on C&C Fools road we ambushed a truck on the north road. I placed on mine visible in the road, another hidden in the grass and C4 on the wider shoulder. I missed the truck by a half second when it went by but the explosion was enough to push the truck out of control where it drove off the road and we shot the driver. Especially when you don't have easy access to supplies, use the mine as a decoy and the IED/C4 as the killer. Put the mine in an obvious spot with an easy way around it, and put the charges on that easy path. And if you have access to supplies, like a cache, you can build a mine field and then daisy chain the IED's behind that so when they stop for the mine field......say g'night Gracie. Even better with some inf to mop up. |

Yea i love putting them behind rocks on the road or something to block the view of a mine/IED on the road. It's always fun to wait and wait and then finally BOOM, your waiting has been successful.

I'm a huge fan of those arches on the likes of Basrah in the west slums with the two stories by VCP, and on Ramiel with the entrances to the city. Someone's bound to use those beaten paths to get in, and with enough IEDs, it'll be a smoke cloud with a wreck underneath it all.
There's no such spot as a bad IED spot, except at a cache. Only in Project Reality (< marketing lie.). |

I used C4 as an IED on sunset city all the time, especially if I'm chinese.
Throw the mine in the water crossing by the bridge and place the C4 next to the railing on the bridge. Blow up the first vehicle that starts going on the bridge and the next vehicle will generally decide it's safer to take the water route.... On an earlier note I really thing that insurgents should be able to place their IED where ever they can with out getting killed. Asymmetrical warfare is the whole point of an insurgent vs an uniformed enemy. Vehicles should always have infantry walking ahead when leaving the base or crossing bridges to check for IEDs. |

C4 is underused on most AAS maps. I've been trying to fix that. I'll add some stuff to this thread once I can. Comp issues atm.
Nothing like a little Ambush action |

IEDs work very well on Mestia. With all the trees, the Russian apcs are very limited to their travel paths, so there are lots of good locations to lay mines, or ieds. The road leading up to west flag on mestia is ideal. You can stick them on the ramp on the way up, or the crossroads. You never expect ieds on aas, so you nearly always get the first one or two apcs they send up
