Re: Shooting and location
Not quite, it takes a few seconds to become perfectly accurate AFTER MOVING. Once you have fired, your rifle will lose some degree of accuracy and you will have to wait around one second before reaching "perfect" accuracy. Of course this only applies to assault rifles, weapons such as carbines, smgs or pistols take less time to reach "perfect accuracy with pistols taking the least time. Then weapons such as machine guns and sniper rifles take longer with sniper rifle taking the longest with a large 8 second time before reaching that "perfect" accuracy both after moving and firing.
Some weapons will be receiving an accuracy boost in the 0.85 patch, rifles will have a small increase in accuracy and marksman rifles will have a larger increase. Although the system does what its supposed to do most of the time, there is those times where those run and gun players will win the fire fight. Best tip though would be to stick in groups, as that improves your chances of your target being killed, you not dying, and you having fun. It really doesn't matter if you don't kill many things in the squad, as long as you play your part and keep your head down. Some of the best rounds I’ve played are the ones where I play medic with a good squad, and although I might not kill an enemy for twenty minutes at times, it still is great fun walking around the map with the squad, keeping in cover while watching out for enemies. When we do get into those fire fights I engage only if necessary or if safe to, otherwise I’m tending to the wounded or covering their backs or just keeping an eye out for the enemies. Exiled. |

Re: Shooting and location
I have a question on shooting in PR. I know in real life an AR set to single shot is a lot more accurate than burst. I just assumed this is also the case for PR? It seems that a lot of enemy always seem to be able to put multiple shots on me pretty quick from a good distance away.

Re: Shooting and location
Welcome to the BF2 engine. Your skills with aiming, the deviation the DEVs set, and your other actions have absolutely no bearing on whether your shots will hit or not. The BF2 engine sees all and knows all. It takes great pleasure in making hitting moving targets actually impossible, and stationary targets a game of luck. Third party programs like HitFixer might help, but not as much as whatever those other bastards are using to instantly headshot us all the time.
Enjoy your stay. |
