Not in the manual?

Just wondering if anyone could answer a couple of queries regarding .8 stuff that don't seem to be covered in the manual.

1) How the hell does the civi phone work? My only guess is that when you press alt fire, then the mortar barrage is target on the cross-hair that would otherwise be in the centre of your screen if you actually had one.

2) Likewise for the grenade launcher sights: Again, at a guess, the numbers correspond to where you would have to aim to hit a target at the many hundred of meters. Assuming the target is on the same level vertically as you, which obviously you will have to adjust for accordingly.

Well you are about right with this all. Didn't think it needed any extra mentioning in the manual. Sights usually are in 100m steps if single numbers are used and the cell phone is described although not in perfect detail since it is comparable with the GLTD in it's use. May look into making it easier to understand in the future.

It's easy enough to understand with the GL I guess, but the cellphone is kinda different since there's no apparent cross-hair or anything like that, doesn't even give a voice message asking for support or anything. Just though I'd check I had them both right though.

I think you can use the move order to pinpoint your mortar order with the cellphone.

IE set a move order on the tank, alt fire, use "call mortar strike" on secondary menu.

easier way, just use the "t" comma rose . . . . that has the option to request a mortor strike there

I think he means using the move order to pinpoint the strike. Ie, set a marker, see where the marker is, and then call in the mortar strike without moving the mouse - should go in the same place.

As to the UGLs: the most important thing is to ignore the weapon model. It might seem like you need to align the sights or something, like in a real grenade launcher sight, but it's simpler than that. It's just like the old crosshair, except it's bigger.
