Re: LAT Guide
You need to be SL for this, no?

Re: LAT Guide
No, you need squadleader or commander to tell you what is the distance from you to target. If you want to use one of my techniques. Or you can be one yourself just like you said. But that is not good idea when you have to lead the squad.

Re: LAT Guide
I almost feel that this is kind of cheating. Using the binocs to aim. Dont move the mouse and just press 4. Thats not realistic and only proves everyone in here that says: good guide, is in the for the score. At least thats how it looks to me. I dont think anything less of you guys btw! Not to start any flame wars. Just wanting to know how you guys feel about this.
And at topic starter: Im not saying you didnt do a good job on the post and the work you put in to it! Im just saying this is not the way PR is meant to be played. Like the miniature gamers say: Its unfluffy! |

Re: LAT Guide
Nice guide, but its the same as doing the bino-scope trick for an iron-sighted weapon. Same effect, i'm sure you should be applauded for the effort here, as it certainly took a lot. If you have the patience for this, you may enjoy beta-testing or the kind of "off-the-wall" strats developed in the tourney.
Personally it isn't how i would play it, i just aim by eye on all targets, but considering the long range opportunities that static stand-off APCs give i can see this being used a lot. Point-and-shoot guide would probably be more useful, with an assessment on leading the target at range at vehicles standard speeds. |

Re: LAT Guide
Yea I was under the impression that this topic was about that. About normal engaging. With how much each weapon drops and so fort.

Re: LAT Guide
i dont agree on that point.
I my opinion it is more of "using what has been given". ( I also use the SL Marker to mark Enemys in the distance. You dont have that in real life, too) Also there are only a few real situations in which this tip works. In a regular PR fight situation, you will almost never have still standing targets for that amount of time. (exept maybe firebases, bunkers) But this tips are realy good to get a feeling how the LAV rockets are functioning. Shoot at some practice targets in different distances with that tip, look at the angle when switched back to the LAV and you can handle it without the binocs after a few trys pretty well. On the other side, As cyberzomby said, it would be very cool, if the guide would be completed, "About normal engaging. With how much each weapon drops and so fort." |

Re: LAT Guide
huge thanks for that. i did the same for 0.75 testing all the exact distance marker relations but with 0.8 i would have to test every range again...you saved me alot of work...thx

Re: LAT Guide
You got a good point Ironman. Altough I guess that in real life you have a bit more feeling about distances. You have learned to guess them. But I got to come clean. I use the markers as well. Just for my squad to show where the enemy is. But this is sometime in the future so we might have a little chip in our eye wich displays those things

Re: LAT Guide
Thanks for all of your comments.
And I understand that for some of you guys this is cheat and you will not use it. But dont worry, you dont have to. But remember that I have also included many other tips about LATs to my guide, it's not all about binocular stuff. And what comes to issue about expanding this guide. I am not going to do it. BUT! If someone has the time and patience, please do it. Post it here and I will paste the text to original message. -Dave |

Re: LAT Guide
this is a programmer gift
but this is a good balancing cause we cant De/increase the angle if the weapon like in Reallive... same is on the sniper and on all other ranged wrapon where u can ajust your aim on the weapon.... |
