They had this effect in delta force 2 where you'd sink into the snow, deeper in some places than others. youd of course still get hard icey solid surfaces but is it possible to code this sorta thing in pr? Id love to find the spots where I can bury myself in the snow :P

well, in a small lowerd place, filled with "undergrowth snow" it might be possible and fun, or, what about a cave entrance which is hidden in the snow ?
