Update number Seven

Major texture update. This is my second vehicle texture so I need comments how to improve it. I want to point that there isn´t any lines and bolts painted yet. I´ll make them tonignt. I´ll try to make the specular and normal map today too. Enjoy and pls give contructive comments too

Ok, here is the model I am going to work with. My job is to convert it so that it can be used in bf2. It's still very rough and misses lots of detail.

For example the hull has less than 1500 polys and the turret has about 5000! There are open areas what I have to fill etc. etc. After that I have to do the hierachy things and stuff :P

It's going to take a while but I think it will be fun

Here are some photos. Say anything what you want. In consrtuctive way or not. Opinions are heard.

Update 2

So, the T-80bv was sent to trashcan and we decided to model the T-80U which is more general. Our russian faction project leader (RFPL!) Geze sent me low poly model made by petr005 (thx!) which looks great. But the poly count is low as 4500 so I will add more details and soften some hard places. After that the hierachy will be fixed and uvmapped. Can someone send me a pic of how bf2 vehicle uvmap looks like.

Something to talk about. No autosmooths or turbo's were used in this picture

UPDATE 3 !!1

Phew, my school started two weeks ago and I have been doing some freelance 3d'ing, so I have been busy

But today I desided I'll give some time for PR community. Here are some pics to see the difference to original model (made by famous petr005 ) and my update. But before I move to uvmapping you can suggest for improvements, there are lots of polys left. Original model had 5079 faces and after my upgrade it has 6350. That is still pretty low. I can add like 1000 faces more IF I dont have to add the mg.

Update 4

Small update

I made a new light. Twice much faces but the old was so ugly >:P



There were very ugly boxes in left side of the turret. I decided to switch them with 3 smaller, but more detailed verions.



In this you can see the smoother barrel and removed fuel tanks. What do you think of those wheels? Should they be more smoother too?

Allright Now its done! I added the hatch ( It's great that it preserves the uvmaps if you collapse the modifier stack) and uvmapped it. I was so sleepy last night that I missed some very important places. There were little bit too much overlapping.

I'll now put the uv's in right places and send a pic of it.

juast FYI : T-80U(M) is now being fielded as a replacement for T-80U, so before starting to model this , take a look at that model , it also come with shtora-1 .

Yeah, I definatly want the T-80 with the ERA bricks.

yeah they are very similars , but the t80m is russian maded , and the t84 is made in ukrania .

also, a question , is the t80 gonna have a remote controled gun ? or it will be "balanced" with the oter factions

EDIT: ERA bricks didnt protec the tank very well , thats why they are replacing them , but still, they looks cool

Yes hopefully. You'll see on proving grounds a Humvee with CROWs, hopefully will take that and with some little modifications we'll have the remote controlled gun.
