M16A4, Brit M4, L85A2 UGL questions

Yes, I searched, and found no results. These are just some questions I have:

1) Just curious, but why is it taking so long to put in the M16A4? Making a completely new model? Why do that when you can just take the original M16A2, remove the carry handle, and replace the foregrip with RIS?

2) The British M4 model really pisses me off. It's awful. The Aimpoint isn't even a circle, it's an octagon, and there's a tacky red dot on the back of the lense. Will this be changed?

3) As pointed out months ago, the L85A2 UGL must have a SUSAT, and can't use iron sights--yet it still has iron sights. Will this be changed?

4) British Sniper rifle needs some work. When the bolt is opened, it rotates outside of the rifle.

Miscellaneous gripe: why the hell are there shotguns? Shotguns are only used for door breaching, and since there's no door breaching in PR, it's pointless. Plus I'd just like to see them gone, since those damn bots lay waste to entire squads (wiped out me, and 3 teammates in less than 5 seconds) with them.

1) Yes, new model, cant edit original AT ALL. Can't get at the model to edit it, only way to change it is to start from scratch.

2) Turn your AA up a bit, it is a circle. Red dot IS the aim point IRL. Get used to it/use a proper kit.

3) It is getting a SUSAT, just wait.

4) Then re-animate it yourself.

Miscellaneous reply: Good point there (for conventional armies), Back it up with some evidence and it will probably be changed.

Very True. I've got my settings all the way up and it looks flat and grey and generally bleh. Hopefully this might get redone under the upcomming M16/M4/C7 redux (which will hopefully include the C8A1 SFW, which is what it is).

Well actually the most common use of Shotguns in the British Army is for clearing cover in jungles and such, hense their use on OGT is perfectly realistic. If anything there needs to be more maps with shotguns, imo.

You can attach your own models to DICE's via code, but you can't alter the original mesh of the model.

The M16A4 is being modelled because it would require altering the mesh of DICE's M16A2 to receive the desireable effect, thus, it requires a whole new model.

This is version 0.6 of the mod - it isn't final. There's still lots more work that needs to be done. Most of your problems are aesthetic only, and will be adressed eventually, but as of now, there are bigger things to address.

A lot of British weapons are dodgy placeholders. L86 LSW is currently being redone and I think the Britspecops will also be redone.

How do you know it's on full auto if there's no selector switch IRL? I haven't noticed the selector myself...

And, yes, ironsights will be added.

IRL there is, but not on the current ones.

However, those nice chaps over at EoD kindly allowed the PR devs to use their M14 model, which is, obviously, one from the Vietnam era.

And back then they still had the option for full auto (though it was often locked out).

Any chance of a Browning Auto-5 or M870 wingmaster (which could be a reskinned Norinco thingamajig, what the PLA have) to replace the M1014? (not that I expect that for a long time, bloody people and their bloody assault rifles... Boomsticks are where its at...)

Also, really going off topic now, will the M1014 replace the M11-87 for the US at some point, being, as it is, the current joint services shotgun for the US?

Anyway, sounds good, even if shotties arn't getting the love they deserve!
