I've been a dick to users in the past, but do to recent curbings on Dev lashing of pubbies, I'll restrain myself.

First of all, he does not have 'the right to complain'. He bought nothing from us, there was no exchange, there was no contract. Thats like saying I can go bitch to the people at Salvation Army about the free food they give to the homeless.

We respect, and encourage CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. The most important part of any conversation on the internet is TONE. Although sekiryu's posts are not genuinely disrespectful, to be honest their tone is fairly disrespectful.

Quick internet lesson for you boys and girls, choose your words wisely, they set the tone for your posts. Words and phrases such as "It's awful", "tacky", "as pointed out months ago", and "why the hell" used when discussing another's free and volunteer work brings across a disrespectful attitude.

On another note Lampshade111, your tone is crap. Again, we'd gladly listen to your thoughtful and well worded arguments on server policy, but telling us that we should immediately change what we are doing is not going to get you anywhere.

In regards to the server policy, it's like buying a homeless guy a meal. You could just give him the money, but you don't want your charity being spent on drugs or alcohol. So, you apply some stipulations to your donation, and ensure the homeless guy uses the money to feed himself. What we're doing with the server code is no different. It is our code, and we are freely giving out to anyone we see fit. However, we want to ensure that they don't use our donation to destroy the game play we have worked so hard to create.

Complete nonsense eh? Fine, if you think our goals here at PR are stupid and pointless, we'll pack it in and ship out. God knows we don't get any compensation for the long hours we put into the mod. To act as if you're entitled to anything regarding our child of labor is ignorant and disrespectful.

If you continue to presume the attitude that the Dev team owes you anything because you downloaded the mod, the door is right there. You won't be missed with an attitude like that. However, if you would like to stay, and be a constructive member of the community who words his criticisms in a thoughtful and neutral manner, by all means, we'd be glad to have you.

I think the Dev team has earned the right at the very least to not be harassed and disrespected on their own forums. We won't take crap for long. We don't take kindly to blatantly disrespectful and non-constructive posts criticizing the Dev team for their decisions/work.

Start your own mod, work on it for a year, spend all your free time on it, and then come back and talk. Otherwise improve your attitude or your stay here won't last much longer.

If you don't want to listen to the other side of the argument why bother having these forums? Ban me if you want but I am going to keep my opinion and argue for it. I usually try to be constructive but this issue and the stubbornness and elitism that surrounds it really angers me at times. Yes you guys don't owe me anything but I don't owe you any praise for this. I am entitled to one thing which is an opinion on this matter.

How are servers that are spending their own money and choose to run your mod "destroying" when they choose to run the settings they want. This server contract is completely unnecessary and is complete nonsense as the fact that no other mod enforces similar rules can show. All it does is prevent some people from having more fun.

You guys need to chill out. Arguing is counter-productive.

Our rationale for forcing our server settings is that we want our mod to be played a certain way, and not a bastardized version of it. Other mods don't have the problem because other mods don't try and restrict the player's actions to a realistic feel. This one does. This one wants you to play a certain way. If you want short spawn times and cool stuff, try USI or PoE2. Many PR players like the way that it is right now and don't want their experience dumbed down with short spawn times and stupid decisions and behavior by people who have no regard for living or dieing.

This thread did not start out as an attack against the server contract, so I'd suggest you get on topic.

I don't care. You are late on the discussion that was in the table 2 months ago and that was the decision by the DEVs.
