all they did is encourage APC's to be used as light tanks since the TOW missiles could easily take out tanks, where for the most part they where pretty unrealistic, and the LAV got 2 of them making it soo much more powerful than all the others. Can just remember Steel Thunder in v0.3 or w/e where the APCs just charged around the forests hunting tanks, they where way more feared by tanks than the TOW hummers are now.

Well, I'm not a military expert, maybe I've just been reading too much Tom Clancy, but I thought APCs were fairly effective tank killers? I mean they're definitely not designed to take as much of a beating, but aren't they good at zipping up, firing a lethal rocket or two and running?

You would be right if said APC was equipped with an ATGM but afaik, the stryker is not.

In fact during gulf war 1 the Bradley IFV was accredited with many tank kills during the blitzkrieg style rush. I forget the number so why doesnt someone check wiki for me or something

Well the Bradley is quite a effective tank killer due to its TOWs, but on its own a normal APC like a LAV-25 is not effective against a tank unless they have a Javelin or something stashed in the back of them, but then its only the APC carrying that bit of equipment and not it using it.

Yeah thats what i said, about the ATGM(anti tank guided missile) on the bradley. But basically, not many APCs that i know of have ATGMs standard so they should not in PR either.

Tank killing APC= bad, IMO.

I'd imagine, would basically be who sees who first WRT a M2A3/M3A3 v. Tank engagement. It's Bushmaster wouldnt do much to a modern MBT although it has succeeded in destroying T55s as well as T72s at close range, as well as racking up the most kills against armored targets of any vehicle during the Gulf War.
