What, like testing it to make sure it doesn't crash and that the installer installs properly? Like sending it to mirrors so you actually can download it? I could go on...

same. you guys really do not have any idea about what is required to be done before a release. At this stage we are doing things like getting the site updated to be ready for the release, ie, update the file page links, pics etc, getting a news post sorted, promo stuff and all the rest. As well as testing to see if everything works on every diffrent system possible, and then finding as many diffrent mirrors to host it from. I can remember one mod, not sure which one but they thought they could get away with 1 hosting site from just a avrage FTP server. In the first 10mins of the release the server was dead, so many ppl trying to download all at once the server could not take it. No one could download, not even other hosters could download the build to host it on other sites so ppl could download it. All in all, was a pretty big feck up and cost them alot of players
