GeZe, you have our Glock 17 to do. I think it's KP's final version.

.

Under normal circumstances, everybody pwns Griffon, in Soviet Russia, Griffon pwns EVERYBODY!

As the project lead you have to make sure that, to the best of your abilities, you make it known:
- what should be worked on
MOST IMPORTANTLY:
- what should NOT be worked on (like Glock 17s when there is other stuff to do)
AND:
- who is working on what
- bug them to report status

Generally you'll find that many people who will want to "casually" try modding will only be productive if they are working on some specific thing they wanted to work on. The modding "pros" are the ones who can be productive at things they did NOT want to work on, but need to get done for the project to succeed.

And just as much you'll find that without regressing to being a complete asshole on a frequent basis, people will just go and work on whatever they feel like. Sometimes this is awesome, sometimes it is a pita. In the early stages, folks need to focus on a simple, achievable first milestone playable release.

You have to stick rigorously to a SIMPLE plan and pursue that plan in VERY SMALL CHUNKS as agressively as you can .. reach a milestone, then re-evaluate the plan. The milestone should ALWAYS be a playable release of the content, so keep each chunk small and realistic.

You dont want to be designing / producing the CF mod for the PR mod so that by the time you release nobody is around to play it.

And to compare to a professional game studio, the above listed design content would get produced in a matter of a few days. (a pro studio would obviously do it differently .. am just referring to the worload and complexity in the plan above that would effectively add another faction to the mod / game).

Cheers!

Whoever does this, make sure they work with psd's & put some sort of texture overlay/low noise filter on the textures (to cover up artifacts) because you get a noticable loss of quality when resaving .dds's.

Another thing- with bundled & skinned meshes you can import the models into a 3d app with the uv data intact (unlike with statics) because they only use uv #1, so someone could bring the models into something like zbrush or deeppaint3d & paint textures/sculpt normals right onto the models.
