The LAV-25 is used mostly by the USMC Marine Expeditionary Units (MEU) for recon. Regular Marine Units get to ride in the wonderful AAV-7's.

The LAV III is a variant of the Mowag Piranha III, as is the Stryker line of vehicles the US Army uses. The LAV III would be considered to be more of an Infantry Fighting Vehicle, since it carries a 25mm chain gun for fire support, where as the common Stryker (M1126 ICV) is more of an Armored Personnel Carrier, since it has lighter armament (common CROWS systems, M2 and Mk 2).

The most noticeable difference between these two lines are:
Piranha I: Anlged Front/Nose
Piranha III: Square Front/Nose

To get back on topic, the MMEV is using the Piranha III chassis, common to the LAV III.

Coyote have 8 wheels...

the LAV HUSKY have 6 wheels...!

Re: ADATS or MMEV ?

that was a cool vid indeed.... but id ont know about reducing crew seize... the LAV has a crew of 3... and putting the Gunner in the back might be overwhelming for that person.... having been in combat myself, having 2 ppl being in the turret is pretty good, one can engage targets and the other monitor comms and the battlefield and also direct the driver on his next move/bound.... but regardless that is one cool system
