Why does canada need bombers? let the americans take care of it. It's not likekly were going to wage war at all or be the first to attack a country with the states..thats my 2 cents. i say they should rather invest in the f22.

Well, F22 wouldn't be up for sale right now as the US is stopping its production. The reason being they have determined that it is not cost wise to continue producing it.

but also, the raptor is much too expensive for anyone except the united states (and even they can´t afford as much as they wish the could, hence they´ve developed the f-35)

Canada wont be getting the F-35Bs.
Canada invested in the development, but not a major amount of money which means they get options to buy planes, however they can not buy planes just as easy. Canada does get a position higher in the production queue than lesser contributing nations should they choose to get some F-35s. The F-22 is very expensive and serves a very specific role, air superiority. A role most nations can complete with conventional aircraft. The US also has exclusive ownership of the F-22 so it is not available for export. (Although they already broke that rule by selling some to Japan) |
