I say it's one hell of a good idea ... BUT
Make the voices/wordcharts/etc! Then we'll talk. |

Most of the majority here in Canada speak English, French is mainly spoken in places like Quebec.
I don't want to be getting shot at and have some guy trying to talk to me in French when I don't understand a thing... I just say leave it English since the majority of Canadians speak English anyways, and a lot of French Canadians can speak English as well. But thats my opinion. |

I think a good idea for the Canadian forces mod would be to just have the commander speak english with a bit of a french-canadian accent. Nothing too major, but still representative of the two official languages of Canada. Also realistic since most french canadian officers have to communicate in english when addressing NATO troops. I would make grunts and sl speak canadian english. No accents. thats my two cents. And I hope the community modders will not just use the american voices for the mod, we are Canadian and proud of it, we need our own voices no matter how familiar some orders/commands are to the american ones. how boot it eh?
btw.. all of these issues were discussed and still are in the "Canadian Voice" thread by Jaymz.. I dont see the need for a second thread about this. |

you mean those "frenchy canadians" who are losing their limbs and getting blown up by road side bombs in Afghanistan right now? The ones who have been there since this summer fighting the Tabliban and serving their country? Yeah your right the RCR and PPCLI should be the only ones getting recognition.. I mean who cares about the "frenchy canadians" anyway?

Let's not get into nationalist issues right now, both sides had enough of it already in real life. CO or SL french, CO french accent, whatever choosen, but remember that the Quebeckers are glad to be Canadian, only if they can speak their own language (Cuz You wouldn't want to be forced to speak/understand chinese, right? Well, So do I) | |

I suspect it would be too much work, but maybe on one map there could be French Canadians speaking in French, with British Canadians on the other maps.

British Canadians??? We're part of the commonwealth..but don't go as far as calling canadians.. british canadians... We canadians like to refer to each other as "English Canadians" and "French Canadians" solely based on the languages we speak and not on the race. I'm sure the large amount of Irish heritage "English Canadians" wouldn't take too kindly to be called "British Canadians" lol.
