cananda needs to put alot more money into our military, our men and women volunteer, they deserve to be safe. and not to mention by the looks of the politics now and the current state of the world, something big is gonna happen soon perhaps in the next 10 years, canada needs to be ready for anything.

Well, Canada is more active in the war industry than what you think... Our army may not have the best stuff, but we build many piece for missile, jet, attack helicopter, and we are totaly capable of mass producing any military hardware if ever needed...I must admit China is also capable but they cant challenge the NATO strenght.

i knew that much allready, what i mean is put it into our own military. i mean great we can mass produce current materials but why not put that money into developing new vehichles or choppers, or atleaset new systems for our current ones, infact instead of givving the griffon missiles and a machine gun, try taking old griffons, take apart it's chassis and model a gunship over that

There is something seriously wrong with us depending on the US for CAS they wonte always be there and also why do we have our C/F-18's in Afganistan supporting our own troops? or for that matter are own choppers. Do we even have any CH-146's over there

our CF-18 are in Aviano, well msot of them, supporting other NATO mission... other countries rely on our planes somewhere else, thats pretty much how it works.

and no we dont have any Griffon's there yet.... but there it plans for them to go over there.... but regardless even with some Griffons there we wont have the air lift required, we will still depend on NATO support

However, the Z10 is powered by Canadian engines — two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6C-67Cs. The Canadian firm says it exported the engines to China with the understanding that they were for a new civilian transport helicopter. The result has led Pratt & Whitney Canada to not sell any more engines to China.

Because of the engine export ban, the Z10 cannot enter mass production until China develops a suitable replacement for the engine. Chinese turbine engine development and production is notoriously slow.

Well C.A.S. will be provide by U.S.Ar/AF plane like i.r.l. A-10, Apache, BlackHawk...

yea i know about the armament, but what i am saying is that we wont be able to rely soly on CF air lift.... what we need to do is buy our damn chinooks back.... i dont really know why we ever got rid of them to start with
