Hillarious round at Basrah

I was an insurgent SL and we spawned at the mosque to pick up the RPGs and AA rockets, then we proceded to wait spread across multiple roof tops, after 5 minutes have passed still nothing was happening. we moved up to the VCP in hopes of catching a stray land rover or apc and when we got there, still nothing, and then we heard it. The merlin was high above us and we all looked up to see the chopper swaying from side to side, several times almost tipping upside down. I ordered the AA gunman to hold his fire and see where this goes.

after we got charged by APCs and lost controll of the area we returned along the pipe line, we took out 1 APC and the chopper was still swaying then a final flip...and it crashed. it was loaded with infantry...

that pretty much sums up the whole round from begining to finish. we had a few APCs move around and the occasional tank, but thatw as about it. the Merlin dropped men behind us once and the rest of the time it was flopping around like a fish out of water up there, no one really bothered with the AA kit. my whole team got about 20-30 kills total while British troops died around 80-90 times total

A merling (or any other helicopter) crashing by n00b pilots and full of infantary, it is so sady !

I think I may have been in that chopper, while loading up he turned the chopper and took out a team mate (1st mistake) then the pilot flew straight from main base to city (2nd mistake) instead of sneaking around the back. We got to near the mosque and he just hovered and kept saying "GET OUT!" (we were F##King miles up..and 3rd mistake). Then told us he was lagging and started to roll (4th mistake).

May have been the same game...but this type of thing does happen a lot when you get a Maverick from Top Gun type of new pilot who thinks that because they flew once in BF2 Single Player must mean they are PR's best pilot no questions asked (always their biggest mistake of all).

Seen some damned fine pilots on battlearena but maybe I'm just lucky

Have to admit last night seemed odd pilot wise, played 4 games with 3 as a insurgent.
Honestly I must have heard the "merlin down" 3-4 times a round from .50 cals to rpg's and more than a few rolls at airport.I was wondering what was going on until i saw it tear past 40-50ft from the ground passing refinery towards the city, all the time drawing fire like a UN blue helmet.

I've been playing since .5 and this was the FUNNIEST round ever! It was on Al-basrah and me and my squad was tracking a 1 manned Challenger tank, we all got into a vehicle and the operator hopped out of the tank, and of course we killed him. We all got on top of the tank and started shooting randomly into the air celebrating, so noisy that over half of the insurgent team came over to the tank to take pics and get on the tank to celebrate also. We joked with the British that we wanted a HAT kit in return for the Challenger back, and they actually gave us a HAT, even though we didn't want to give the Challenger back, someone destroyed it. IMO it was the funniest round on Al-Basrah ever!

On Fools Road i was with some of the DM guys and ReaperMAC. A one man apc comes up, a Warrior. I'm out of rockets. what do i do now? of course jump on top of the turret! He took of then a spotted a Scimitar...... jump on it and it drives off and he gets a road kill.
