Why I Love Project Reality.

Someone else made a thread like this but the title just didn't inspire you to visit so i thought I'd make a similar thread to attract attention.

Here's mine.

Teamwork, teamwork, teamwork. In order to be effective on this game you have to be in a squad and work as a team or you'll get slaughted (well in my case even then i get slaughted but eh). I'll admit the 1st time I played I was stumped, didn't get it and missed my A-10 .

But...as I got used to it the charms of the game came out. The tension and tactics. Not being able to just spawn anywhere makes you more careful and not just run into a firefight. There's nothing like pinning the enemy. The bullet blurring effect is probably my favorite feature, it give you the option of laying down covering fire on the enemy without even having to hit them and finally, finally there's a reason to use smoke...

Then there's having to use cover, popping in and out from trees. I love the maps, very detailed. You don't have to worry about coming face to face with a tank every so often and getting hosed lol but the thing is, tanks are appropriately weak and strong where you can own a piece of land with just one but you have to pay attention to any AT fire or you're screwed.

anyone else?

When the PRT gets good, theres nothing like a fair and squar win/lose.
Aswell as hooking up with 'E-buddies' and getting on the same squad/team.
Not so much these days, but some of the hardest laughter i have had has come from past testing session and experienced SL's screwing around to freshen up aging releases.

...mongol...

I started playing around 0.2 and I was one of those who drooled when littlebird was just a "coming soon!" -screenshot. When PR was a minimod. Those were golden days. Days when you flew around muttrah and guys like mongol were not e-famous. Then I got fed up when the mod became more popular and games started to go for not wanted directions.

Many people have similar story, so what? Well I came back to find .:iGi:. with awesome attitude towards PR. Nice fellas, relaxed gaming and lots of love between men (krhm.. soothie and frosty knowZzz it).

If we are looking for some ingame experiences I have one very sexy one that just happened recently. We were playing on .:iGi:. with about 8 clan members and pubbies VS about fifteen #Eagle members n' pubbies who pwned us really bad on sunset night or two ago. It was time to give payback.

We got Rudd to command us and other .:iGi:. members to make squads. I think we had 5 IGI TAC squads and commander from our clan. It didn't go easy though. #Eagle and the rest of the opposite side really gave us hard time and after furious fights on both towers we were losing the round like 15 - 10 but we turned it to 2-0.

For long time I really got the "this is exactly why I play PR" -feeling you get after pure awesome rounds. Tight squad co-operating and good commander. You people know what I am talking about (;

I was one of the "pubbies" on the British team. Lost my screenshot, though. Awesome round.

Had a 5-0 round at Seven Gates a few nights ago, awesome there, too. Thanks to Squad 1 for holding the citadel down when we thought all was lost.

edit: Also, a squadleader with a sense of humor makes for a good game. Played a few rounds with kevlarorc as SL a week or so ago, he talked like a pirate for a couple of hours. That was another highlight of my 2 or so weeks of PR.
