Brits take AlBasrah!!!!!!

Between 2100hrs and 0055hrs GMT on the iGi server, in the EU region, the Brit forces had an extensive battle culminating in robbing the Insurgents of all their reinforcements.

It was touch and go towards the end. Once the Village was finally taken when we only had about 450 troops left on the books, we could press on.

Judicious use of commander assets (now they are fixed by the Devs and work properly!) gave good bunkers and firebases south of Checkpoint and on the SOuth side of Village.

The Insurgent forces were full of grumblings about the Brit AA guns raping the hell out of every vehicle they tried to drive into the Brit bases. Many insurgent vehicles were vaporised in mere seconds.

Bunkers placed repeatedly in the Plaza and Mosque, surrounded by sandbags to protect the Brit troops gainst incoming fire proved their worth and once the Industry was taken a couple of times and the Brit forces steamrollered Suburbs the end was near.

But reinforcement numbers were leaning towards the Insurgents side and task squads set out to capture as many civilians as possible, increasing the Brit reinforcement numbers and the balance never swung totally over to allowing the Brits to lose.

From 400 down to 200 and the Insurgents started to fall to pieces. Many hours of fighting was leading to frustration leading to mistkes and letting too many civilians be caught.

When the Brits finally won with about 45 troops left, the cheering started and back slapping all round for the Brits.

Respect to the troops and heres the rollcall :

respect to the Poles for fielding a great team of shovel men!

Glad you had fun. For me the new version of Al Basrah has to be one of the most unbalanced maps in PR.

1) Insurgents face APCs with long range zoom. The RPG is very prone to deviating (especially when aimed through the site so taking out a decent APC and it's crew is very difficult.

2) Insurgents face Apaches. The SA-7 takes a good couple of seconds to lock on by which time the helicopter has deployed it's flares and made an escape.

3) When a civilian is stabbed the British regain tickets. This can cause the game to last for hours and get very boring. If you have a couple of idiots playing civilian they can quite easily lose the round for you.

iGi as insurgents managed to hold the checkpoint because of proper team play and the enemies mistake of spawning at the air field. On a public server this would probably be impossible as there are just so many vanilla players out there.

Can we even the odds of IFV vs. RPG by giving more accuracy to the RPG?
After all, IFVs first task should be taking out hostiles at range, not having a field day, cos Insurgents with RPGs blasted themselves in the face with a rocket.....

And RPG accuracy is just weird looking, since bullets&missiles get fired from the center of the screen, then you fire one RPG and it flies out of the left side of the screen into your feet...

[R-DEV]Gaz: Shout "WE R L33TZ" at the MD, sucker punch him, then teabag him while shouting "WHO OWNS YA? WHO OWNS YA? SAY OUR NAME! IGI! IGI! IGI! OFP2 Beta plz?"

Man thats is quite a moan. Did u loose?

I've won as insurgents and brits numerous times. Its not unbalanced if played right.
The only thing i'd agree with; is that two idiots playing insurgent civilian can a wreck the game a bit.

Your last sentence is a joke. LOL done it many times with pick team players. You dont need to be in clan to use teamwork.

Me and Evilhomer made our own squad, and we were a 2 man Jihad Squad, we took any car possible but spawncars... i placed c4s on the hood.. we drove off.. and im not sure but i belive all in all we got about 10-15 APC's if not more, plus Infantry,Light Support Vehicles ( Rovers n Saxxons ) ... I had a lovely time !

Outlawz, the RPG's are PERFECT !! its easy to hit an IFV, or another decently big vehicle from a distance !.. just aim higher
