IED work is very intense. Especially when your target is a MBT. It's very satisfying to sneak up on a Challenger and throw an Arty IED under him. Usually if I somehow make it that far I just Allahu Ackbar it and kill myself in the blast, as the chances of getting to safe distance without being spotted and/or the tank moving off are pretty slim.

"The Browning is jammed. I am saying 'driver advance' on the A set and the driver, who can't hear me, is reversing. And as I look over the top of the turret and see twelve enemy tanks fifty yards away, someone hands me a cheese sandwich." -Lt Ken Giles (British Army) on commanding an M3 Lee

One time, while playing on kwai river or whatever, we were mobbing south down the river in one of those dinky rubber boats with the m60 mounted up front, and encountered a full two squads swimming across the river. There were all bunched up and completely begging to be owned. So the squad leader tells the gunner to go crazy and he does, but for some reason like 3 of them get across. We were swinging around for another pass, again, in this dinky little boat with a full squad and i see this LAT just peaking his little head over this ridge and im screaming to the driver to turn around. He trips out and tries to turn sharp and we get high centered on a little piece of terrain poking out of the water. We all tried to pile out and we hear the lat go off and it totally annihilates 2 of us and 2 other are wounded. one of the three baddies that made it out of the water was a LM gunner and we didn't stand a chance.

in my third game i was still getting used to the games mechanic in a veterans gaming coop server (didn't want to ruin everyone's game experience with my newness) i joined a random voip squad and was told to go as a medic.
Our squad squad was assigned to scout the next cap point while the rest of the team was busy capping the other. As our Humvee came closer and closer to the point we found ourselves ambushed by the enemy. as enemy aks and rpgs flew over our heads we quickly took cover at the second floor of the nearest building we found. As my whole squad was repeatedly getting downed i was reviving them. but the more i revived the more were downed. and it came to the point where i couldn't keep up. Then the first person died. and unfortunately for us that person was our squad leader. so now we didn't have a mobile spawn in case any more of us died. Because our squad leader wasn't with our ambushed group anymore a i decided to take command until he gets back with reinforcements. I took my squad and told them to head with me to the roof for a better firing position and to give us a better fighting chance with height advantage. as the squad was still being fired at by multiple enemies I told them where to take their positions. one person refused to go though. he said that he will cover the stairs as we make our way up. well he didn't do a good job of it considering that he didn't really cover the stairs... he covered the WINDOWS. there he was taken our by an RPG. i couldn't do anything because i was on the roof of a seven floor building while he was only on the second floor. i quickly told my squad to hold fire and meet me on the seventh floor (which is under the roof). the reason why i did that is because i needed to figure out the situation and to see if we had a chance to retreat. unfortunately for us we didn't. we were completely surrounded by the enemy AI players. I then contacted our squad leader and he had bad news for us. Backup wasn't coming! the only means of transportation our dead squad-mates had was their feet. and we were far away from their location. knowing that there wasn't any help coming nor any way to escape i use my awesome Russian battle tactics to group up our team and to move out of the building. as we move our way down the stairs we get shot at from the streets. but we keep moving! once we make our way downstairs our gunners mg makes short work of the enemies beside our Humvee. as we move closer to the Humvee our hero gunner gets killed at plain sight. i knew that trying to revive him would be a suicide so i got in the Humvee as a driver. it was only me and my fellow squad-mate left. i told him that retreat was a coward like response to the situation and he agreed to make our last stand. as i drove out of our parking space i stared running over the assholes that killed my friends. My gunner did a lot of work as well. we were winning the fight two of us against half the enemy team until an RPG hit us... the Humvee exploded the screen went black, it was over. we failed! but our actions took out a lot of enemy units and weakened their defenses enough for our tanks to break through them and thus giving us the advantage. we won the battle we just didn't live through it. and that ladies and gentlemen is my best moment in bf2 |

Once I was on an T-90 as a gunner in Yamalia, our tank got on an hill and found an enemy TOW just in front of us! There's a man on it and didn't even realized me. I took my shot and destroyed the TOW. But then,an enemy tank found me and fire a round at me. Our T-90 was hit, so we start escaping, we drove into the forest and didn't stop until the enemy tank didn't fire at us.
I told my driver to get out of the tank and just hide here. After a minute, I saw enemy tank in my thermal just 50 meters away from us and didn't discovered us. I fired my anti-tank missile and the driver drove our tank just after their's. After ten second's reloading time I fired another round of APDT and the Canadian tank was destroyed. It's driver even hadn't time to get out of their tank! |

On Vadso City there was a British Forward Outpost on the hill, and we were playing as Russian forces trying to capture the street. I was in a non-mic squad.
From the neutral cap-zone, bullets were being fired from the prone enemy squads at the top hill, trying to pick off any enemies below. And there I was. On the hill. I was holding my breath, each step raising a heartbeat as I was trying to scale the grassy hill. We all tried to get on the hill, but they all died. Thinking I was next, I took it slowly as the last squad member, with a medic kit. I continued proning up the hill slowly on the dark areas so as not to be seen. I prone, prone, prone left upwards and I see the enemies clearly. There was two squads there. I report their positions to team, and then proceed to move. I saw the fob! As I proceeded to move, an enemy came-by. I was crapping myself, thinking all that effort will go to waste if he sees me. Luckily, he passed by and didn't notice the Ninja-Skilled Russian just 6 inches away from him!. I then continued proning, and I picked up an enemy kit. I made sure to take a side-turn around the fob. My hair raises high. While my team is getting shot at, I drop an incendiary and destroyed it for Mother Russia! And then they notice, so I try shooting at them while waiting for deviation to become less and I get shot by 3 men. |
