[AAR] Apc Antics on Fallujah West

Earlier today, I was playing a round on the Chicago Insurgency server. I was on the insurgents team, and our plan was to lurk around H1-H2 ambushing the troops as they left the main base.

2-3 mins after round start, we barely make it to the compound way up in H1, when we start taking sporatic fire from the bradley. We didn't have time to fully mine the road, so me and this other guy just dropped mines near the entrance, to keep the hummers from driving right in. We then begin construction on a hideout, when the bradley pulled into the H1 KP 8 area, and began supressing us as we peaked over the wall. All our bomb cars either failed, or hit soft targets like infantry. As we are hunkering down, planning our next move, the LAV shows up too, and joins the bradley in spraying at us. We could really do nothing more then blindly throw granades over the wall. A few squad members managed to grapple over to a nearby building, but got hit hard by the bradley and were killed off one by one.

10 min in, we are still trapped in the compound. Various blue guys are spawning in, running out, and getting blown to smitherines. Since I was bleeding out, I just ran out with an IED, hoping to get a quick boom off, but the LAV was like 60m away, so I failed. Being frusterated at this point, and rather bored, I spawned as a collaborator, with the full intention of running out, having the apc shoot me by mistake, making him lose points. (Kinda stupid, I know, but whatever)

When I neared the gate, a bunch of granades flew over my head, so an enemy squad was close, but I didn't worry about that at that moment. The LAV was less then 30m in front of me, on the side of the road. I threw my hands up, and started jumping up and down, taunting him. His gunner was looking the other way, but eventually the driver saw me, and lurched towards me. As he was fast approaching, I thought of 3 things, in this order:
1. *HOLY #@%$

2. *Oh crap, he wont get punished now for killing me.

3. *The mines we laid out earlier are still there, less then 1 meter behined me.

I quickly ran backward, and stood right on top of the mines still placed at the entrance to the compound. The driver had no idea what was happening. A split second later I hear a massive boom, and I, and the apc are dead. After nearly falling off my chair in laughter, I managed to explain to my squad and the team how the LAV was killed.

A fellow squad member recieved the kills, however, I recieved one because my mine also exploding must have killed one of the members of the US squad on the other side of the wall. This was the funniest moment I have had in PR so far. This is such a fun mod.

[Short Version: Lured a LAV to a mine, rather by accident, as a collaborator, It went boom]

Yeah, he must have been so excited to get an easy kill, he didn't pay attention. I woulnd't really consider the driver stupid, he just made a HUGE mistake.

That technically may be illegal. While it may not be piracy in the traditional sense of you didn't pay, you downloaded (IE, it's a free game), if it's not generally available on the internet, it's probably not supposed to be. You'd really have to view the license on it, to verify if in fact it is allowed to be distributed publicly.

I like doing that trick =) Sadly, i usually get shot anyways, as the punishment for killing a civi is too low (should take the individual score down to 0)

I got a story like this too. Same are, but just a bit south.
So my squad member had thrown an remote IED on the road. I was a civie and walking around with my hands up. A gun ship pulls up a sprays are me a bit before he realizes I am a civi (LUCKY!). The driver turns and heads towards me, and BOOM the IED goes off.
It is nice when the part of the civie gets played how it was supposed to be played. BAIT and shields.
That is one reason I like the specialist. They have the shotgun that is the bane of civies
