Yup thats not what I meant. Also! Im not a pilot so I wasnt talking about myself.

what I meant was: why would a pilot ditch his plane instead of dying with it and respawning on base to get another one?

Maybe they should make pilots like civillians, the enemy team isn't allowed to shoot them. That could promote more situations like this.
