IIRC it's from a very early build of Battlefield 2, when Trauma (DC devs) was working with EA giving ideas and helping with coding and such. Sadly, hardly any of their ideas got into the final build of the game =/

All you need to know is its not PR

DC did have fastropes in one of the betas but it was so buggy, if the chopper moved much it disconnected the line and they fell to their deaths.
