Opinions on the arm curl machine?

I worked biceps this week and on day 1 did ez bar, and day 2 did machine.

Day 2 felt like it worked more, or at least it felt more pushed to its edges.

Anything wrong with machines for isolation exercises?

I personally don't like it, but that's me, I don't really think there is an issue with it, but make sure you work your triceps as well, keep it balanced.

Aye that's the one, did it again today and really kicked my ass.

Seems harder to "cheat rep" on it, like you can't use your body to help get it up, at least from what I've found. I'm weak as shit at the minute, but lifts are already going up.

I'd just stick to regular barbell curls. They are better than preacher curls for a number of reasons. First of all you can't get a full biceps contraction unless your hand is fully supinated. Secondly, the function of the biceps isn't limited to elbow flexion, since you also use your biceps for shoulder flexion. So I don't understand why you would want to take shoulder flexion out of the exercise.
