Its to early to tell how the brain damage will affect him, as I said he could make a full recovery the brain is very good at bypassing any damage it has and even fixing the damage.

Wrong, brain injuries are major, worse than mere broken legs or arms

the brain can rewire enough to make life worth living, but you are NEVER the same again after a severe traumatic brain injury. 85% of sufferers never return to work. Most people don't seem to understand what is involved with a brain injury, especially severe types. Our NHS doesn't seem to be keyed up on it from my experiences, most of the kids I see riding or skating without a helmet don't understand.

He is lucky he is on an insurance plan with the BBC that should see him covered for the rest of his life if he doesn't have to work. I assume all safety issues were covered as far as humanly possible.

From Headway :

Quote:
The Effects of Traumatic Brain Injury on Brain Function

Damage to the nerve fibres deep in the central part of the brain, which is normally keeps a person awake and alert, results in the most obvious of symptoms - coma. This link between damage to particular parts of the brain and a corresponding lack of brain function means, for example, that damage to the side of the head (parietal lobes) results in weakness in the limbs on the opposite side of the body. Injury to the left side of the brain or the brain stem itself tends to cause speech and language impairment. Coma, loss of power in the arms and legs, and speech impairment are the most visible signs of brain injury. However, traumatic brain injury causes numerous 'hidden disabilities' in that it results in changes to personality, thinking and memory. For example, damage to the brain behind the forehead (frontal lobes) results in behavioural problems, such as loss of insight and self-restraint.

LOL, probably my favorite episode. Another funny part was when Clarkson reached the finish line, but flipped turning into the dock.

Apparently he was awake last night, at which point Jeremy Clarkson called him a crap driver. Hammond laughed, which bodes well for his sence of humour.

America was a tad late into the First World War. They redeemed themself's and came in slightly sooner in the Second. Now they seem determined to start the Third.
