Allied Intent is finished

DasRoach of the Allied Intent mod team has sent us a sad message today regarding the future of the mod. He basically said that Allied Intent .2 will be the last version of the mod. Take a look:
After working together on 2 public releases of the Allied Intent mod, the current crew as you know it has decided to call it a day. Some of the original team members will continue to produce content in the form of a minimod using the .2 public release of Allied Intent as a base.
As a team, we realise how much of a dissapointment this will be to the SP/Coop community, but making a mod is always a big task, and for such a small dev team it has required an insane amount of time and dedication.
Unfortunately, real-life responsibilities and differences in creative opinion have led us to the decision of being happy with what we achived in the .2 release and leaving it at that. We would like to thank the Battlefield community (esp. Battlefield Singleplayer) for all the support and suggestions over the last year, we are humbly grateful. But worry not! The content we had previously posted screens of will be released in due time depending on thier authors decisions, so don't worry, you won't be missing out on new toys to enjoy.

This is such a dissapointment. Almost all of the mods I looked forward to are closing down. Most without releasing what they have done, and keeping all that long awaited work for themselves. At least they realize this, and are going to try and get out some more content.

Tsk tsk.... You guys are MODS and should bloody well know better than this....
Please move this to OFF TOPIC. Ok

As for AI:2 being dead, yeah that IS sad news. The best SP mod I know and now they are leaving the scene.
There may still be some "minimods" for the AI:2 according to Kysterama to add the content that have been shown on their forum.
I will be looking forward to see those, whatever that may be.

To the AI:2 dev team, best of luck to you, and thanks for all the hard work!

{ pretty sig removed construction on new one has not begun }
... yet ...

This is related to another mod's status, and not PR-related discussion.
Moved to Off-Topic from General Discussion.

This seems to be a phenomenon that's really plagueing the entire mod movement these days; the turnaround on games is getting faster and faster, and the games themselves are so sophisticated that construcing a mod takes a lot more work. Thus by the time a mod is completed, the underlying game itself is almost completly superannuated. BF2's mods will arrive just in time to be hit by Crysis, and Armed Assault, Medeival 2 Total War, etc...it's really too bad..

PR will be around for over a year I am sure. Considering all the improvments planned to make BF2 feel like how it should have, people may keep on playing. It was EAs fault that a lot of the BF fanbase has started to plan a move onto another game. If eggman was in fact telling us that PR will be update more often between releases, the fanbase wont be as bored.

PR Mapper Team

You should try to steal some of the remaining AI devs, like whats the point of them working on something small and having loads of work when they could be a good part of something bigger. No offence to them but their work could be beneficial to PR. I know this isnt exaclty the case but its dumb when you have like 3 mod teams trying to do the same thing with a different name. Consolidate your work and youll have something really special.

i liked that mod. Love the motar, reminded me of many happy days as an Engy on BFV, i learned all kinds on positions on certain maps where i could just point at a pixel on a tree and motar spam bases destroying choppers and planes, cutting off choke points etc..

Should nick the Motar and stick it in PRMM

Come over to the Dark Side!
We got sweeties!

Yeah I am sad that the only team that was really working hard on decent AI has gone down. As to this belonging in off-topic I knew that I felt it needed to be in General Discussion for everyone to see then moved to off-topic.
