New York is so crowded that they wouldn't even be able to have the Olympics there.

Why the heck do you think the NY Giants and Jets play in Jersey?

Can't believe the 2012 Olympics is coming so soon... The Beijing Olympics felt like I was just watching it yesterday.

I belive you mean winning the most medals.

BBC SPORT | Olympics | Medals table | Olympics

Still, China's not far behind... gonna be some stiff competition next year.

Do I sense some slight competition between the various nationalities in this thread? We still have a year to go!

Aaah, but what would be interesting to see would be amount of medals compared to number of competitors put in, that would actually show how good a country was. Probably will still be US, but still a heck of a lot better for some of the smaller countries

E: 1912... GO SWEDEN!

Seems like the country hosting the games were the ones who got the most medals back then (Stockholm is the capitol of Sweden)

I wonder if it was because it was such a choir to get to the olypics? Flying to the US was hardly an option in 1904
