Yup, I regreted gettting a PS2 on the launch date then watching £100 drop off the price 2 months later before any good games were released.

Im much happier with a PC these days, but I will definately be picking up a PS3 at some point, just not straight away.

I got it on release, GT3's graphics were pretty mind blowing compared to the PS1, I was well happy with it. Prices come down on everything, I knew it'd happen before long but I'd rather get something early than go without for a few months to save some cash.

CD Capacity - 700mb
DVD Capacity - 4.7gb (Xbox 360 uses a version which holds upto 7gb)
Blu-Ray Capacity - upto 200gb

HD-DVD is another new format that falls between DVD and Blu-Ray. Xbox 360 is expected to release an external disc drive that supports this new disc, but even so HD-DVD can't hold near as much as a Blu-Ray disc. For a triple layer, double sided HD-DVD disc vs Blu-Ray disc, Blu-Ray can pull out 200gb, HD-DVD can barely get 90gb.

Uh, GTA3 was released about 11 months after the PS2.....thus proving my original point

GB*, and I hope I don't have to explain why!

I got the PS2 almost immediately after launch mostly because we had no other DVD player in the house. There weren't any PS2 launch games I particularly wanted to play until after I'd got it, though Dark Cloud was pretty damn cool.

The difference between PS3's Bluray (inbuilt) and 360's HDDVD (external extra) is only 10GB on a standard disk (25GB for the Bluray, 15GB for the HDDVD). It's worth mentioning that the expected price for the 360 HDDVD player is $200, thus making the 360 with the HDDVD player exactly the same price as a PS3.

The problem I see is game manufactors will increasingly go to the consoles because they can charge whatever they want (ripoff in other words) by making their games one console only, they aren't as afraid of piracy issues and they can get benifits from the console company.
Read the article. The PS3 is retailing for 600 right now not 400.

Also, all those 9 cores aren't used for gaming. 1, possibly 2 are for gaming, but the rest are for different applications. Sony wants you to think that it is going to use them all and the GPU will be really great, but from the little actual gameplay screens seen, it is basically the same as Xbox 360. Why do you think they don't want you to see a lot of actual gameplay videos?

VF5 looks just like DOA4.

And 512ram in the PS3 is not equal to 512 ram in a regular pc.

And yes, you can get a decent pc for the price you would spend on the PS3 in the long run.

Stop believing their bs.
