But the title of this section does not DIRECTLY state that you CAN post spam, it just says Off Topic....everything else (including useless SPAM). I do not see the statement that says you can post spam here.
Nobody EFFING touch my right to spam!

Seriously though, spam will forever be an integral part of just about any forum unless you want to supermoderate it in which case people will get bored and move to someplace else.
Having said that, spam should not be allowed a free reign in every thread so "spam" moderately.
I hope you see my point...

Actually it says that you CAN post spam. Or if we look further into your argument you could say it does not DIRECTLY state you can post ANYTHING, period.

We've had this discussion before. There really is nothing new to it. Some people want to ban spam and spammers (assumption on my part ).
That is all good and nice and cuddly in the OTHER forum sections here. But, in the OFF TOPIC section spam still IS and should REMAIN "moderately free".
With that I mean post spam if you want to but be prepared to have those posts removed without warning.
If someone states in a topic or within the first post in a thread that the thread is to be free of spam. Then that should be respected.
We are all adolescents here and we should be able to conduct ourselves in compliance with some basic rules.
Yes, I said "adolescents" barring misspelling it that is the word I wanted because how many here consider yourselves "adults"?
I sure as hell don't and I'm a happy 38 going on 12.......

There is also no need IMO to make a separate forum for spam only. As long as we can respect a "SPAM FREE ZONE" alert in a thread topic or within the first post of a thread AND / OR accept to have spam posts deleted from such a thread then I see no problenm why spam could not coexist happily side by side with "serious" topics.

That was a rather complex explanation of a very simple concept.
The abridged version is something like this:
For thread starter:
You make a post. You want it free of spam. Put "Spam Free" in the topic AND / OR within the main body of your first post in that thread.

For thread "answerers":
Reply to "Spam Free" marked threads with respect and without SPAMMING.

For moderator:
Should you find spam in a thread marked as "Spam Free" delete it and go on living your happy life.

Now, if we, the main body of this community, are not mature enough to respect that then we are no better than any other forumcommunity, you take your pick because I won't be pointing fingers.

All this and I'm not quite done, I'm as guilty of spam as the worst of us... Mostly it's something I'm rather proud of
On occasion though, there are times I wish I just stayed in bed.

In the end I just want to say that spam is not the big problem people say it is if we can only work together to keep it outside the serious discussions.

The S.A.D Rules! (within certain rules )

Ok, next topic:
Thread locks.
Could you mods at least have the courtesy of posting a reason for you locking a certain thread?
I know that sometimes the reasons are selfevident but sometimes they are not.
So, if you could post your reasons for locking that would be great.

Thanks.

ok,

lol, I'm just joking there but realy. Too often do topics get so off topic that they are useless steaming piles of spam. I'll try to do a little better with reasoning the post and try to post in them and get back on topic first unless it appears to be one that can't be helped.

As you have all noticed there are several R-MOD's roaming the forums now. They haven't been doing much of later but I can assure there will be a lot of action. Action you say what action? Well, locked threads, moved threads, archived and even deleted threads. That's what.

Now lets say that your thread gets locked or archived and you don't feel it should have. then here is what you do.

PM ME!!!! and if you do, you had better have a good reason other than the one I have seen lately of "It was in the spam forum."

THERE IS NO SPAM FORUM. There is an off-topic forum with spam threads. We are getting tough on this for the exact reason mentioned in the first post here. It is literraly driving away new members. The OFF-TOPIC forum means for things that do not fit into one of the defined forums. IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN SPAM THE FORUM. We have decided to leave the gif-war and word threads because they are a bit of a tradition here. Needless to say, please stop spamming the forums. There is no need for it and people are starting to leave because of it.

Cant argue. I am doing my best to avoid spam in my posts. However it takes time to become 100% clean.

Spam itself is not all that bad, but it can be annoying when its completly random. I noticed Superdj for example is getting a lot better at keeping his posts on topic. Thats great, but he has some fun on threads that do not have a serious tone too. Its fine to have fun, and thats what we are here for.

We have to avoid getting in these arguments, as these are WORSE than spam, and if anything drive away more people than anything else. Wraith, no offense or anything, but the tone you have taken in that post is very unessicary. It is just an example, but it is a good one. I cant say I havnt taken part of any of these two events, but I can say I have learned from them. Just like Superdj.

What I am saying is, we have to be able to keep the peace, have fun, and stay on topic.
