Cool garden ornament for sale on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Decommissioned...QQcmdZViewItem

You are bidding on a decommissioned Royal Navy Sea Harrier which saw active service in the Falklands 1982.

The BAE Systems Sea Harrier is a naval jet fighter, reconnaissance and attack aircraft, a development of the Hawker Siddeley Harrier. It first entered service with the Royal Navy in April 1980.

This aircraft has been fully decommissioned and comes without engines and weaponry and is therefore for display purposes only.

The item has been verified for legal sale by ebay's customer services department.

This item is only available for sale within the UK and we are happy to arrange viewings prior to bidding. Please contact us to arrange a viewing through the ‘contact seller’ option on this auction.

Buyer must arrange collection and payment must be via cleared funds.

For some recent press coverage on the Harrier please visit www.keltruck.com/harrier

The jet would make an excellent display piece and has certainly caught the attention of passers by for the several months it has occupied our premises.

General Measurements

Length: 46 ft 6 in (14.2 m)

Wingspan: 25 ft 3 in (7.6 m)

Height: 12 ft 4 in (3.71 m)

Wing area: 201.1 ft² (18.68 m²)

yes, retrofit a PC and a joystick w/ some air conditioning and tap from a keg of Guiness in the bombbay. Now that would be realistic gaming.
Really, i hope some video game arcade buys it and puts a flight sim game in it w/ some hydraulic jacks to simulate flight etc. I'd fly to merry old england to play on that game.
how much is 75K in US dollars .....about 100,000 ?

It is not the ablility to suffer that makes men great.
Even women and slaves can attain mastery of that.
To inflict great suffering and not be overcome with distress and doubt when you hear the cries of suffering, that is great, a pact of greatness.

IDK... to me it seems like a pretty big waste of money, for one of the most accident prone planes ever made.

Trust you to come out with something like that. It's a huge part of history. It's probably not going to be bought by a normal guy anyway, most likely an air museum.

£75k is more like $140k in today's rates. I could've swore I looked at the auction earlier and it was upto 200k though...
