Scottish WWII piper Bill Millin dies in Devon hospital
Very sad. Apparently, when the Germans saw him standing there playing his bagpipes as the troops disembarked, they didn't shoot him because they thought he was mad! |

He went to war with a bagpipe instead of a rifle? That's a hero.

OT, you can kill more people with bagpipes than a thousand rifles. Or their sense of music, at least. Proper eccentric, exactly what the UK should be producing more of! Eccentrics made this kingdom great! | |

Apparently, lead is not good for you if ingested, at any velocity. And whilst I'm here, you're not a PC and Windows 7 wasn't your idea, live with it!!! |

It is kind wierd to see a guy playing a music in a combat in WWII, but in a little effort imagining the scene, it could rise up the soldiers moral in battle.
RIP - |

This would make an awesome film with Ridley Scot as Director - some Hans Zimmer music - Sean Connery playing the bagpipe on a boat with the mist fog over the beach and Brad Pitt as an evil german officer.. brb going to Hollywood. |
