The problem is the hard liners like war because it gives them a reason to become even more hard line and keep fighting. Both Isreal and Hezbollah have people who want the fighting to stop. Also just a point if the bombing of the infrastructure keeps up like this long enough we will end up with another civil war.

Look at the millions that arafat had stashed away, did that help the palestinians? The power hungry need the conflict to survive. The difference is the West / isreal can control their power hungry types and the muslims can't. You cry about causalties.... i se the same people who cheered in the streets on September 11th, 2001.

My answer is simple but brutal. kill them all, crush their infrastructure so that can no longer sustain offensive operations. Not an original idea i admit but one that is tried and tested.

Bob ...if you recall we did not do that. We did not mine the Haiphong harbor ..we did not do a lot of things that might have ended the war. At least 2 times the north was defensless becuse they ran out of munitions.
What happened then ? They asked for peace talks, and re-armed while diplomats babbled in Paris. We bombed the living sh*t out of that country and they are still dying from it even today. The way that war was conducted is a national shame and it changed many things in this country. But that was a proxy fight w/ the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
I don't think that killing anyone is a good idea, but there comes a time that you have to stand up for your way of life.
There will not be " peace in our time" if we continue to give in fear and hope that if we are nice to them they won't blow up a subway or fly a plane into a building. The only way wars end is when one side wins. Sorry to burst your Hollywood bubble but peace talks are just an excuse for the losing side to re-arm. That's why the isreali's shut the airport, seaport and roads out of the country. They don't want to kill civilians but I ask you the same question Bob..

Israel is not threatened by it's neighbours. Israel is a military superpower in the ME and it's supported by the US ...so who is a threat to Israel? And all the arab countries have recognized Israels existence many years ago - What country could threaten Israel? What would you suggest? How many israelies have died in the last weeks of war between Israel and Hezbollah? ...is that the dangerous enemy who threaten to destroy Israel and reason enough for Israeli militarism?

The Israelies fucked everything up for themselves, so I really don't know what I would do. Their aggressive policy helped Hamas to power in the palestinian areas an right now they are strengthening Hezbollah in Libanon and making enemies all over the ME (and the rest of the world). I guess I would emigrate to Germany, open a small bookshop and join the peace movement
