Right now the difference between the two leading options is not significant enough for a decision....
Need more votes for REMOVE BOTH or KEEP BOTH will win by default.

You mean by removing the postcount and shoutcount also all the non-actual thread and archive will be removed right? Is that to make more room for bandwith or someting.

I don't care about postcount but I don't understand why it should be removed. And a little oftopic question: why where almost al the non-actual threads/topics where put in the archives place so you can't reply anymore? There where some nice discussions going on.

I voted for other. We need to just delete all the huge spam threads and shoutbox archives, and start anew.

No I do not mean the removal of any posts. Just the actual count.
As for the move of "old" topics into the archives that's not for me to answer nor is this thread the place for that discussion.
My reasoning behind the removal of the postcounts is that it may help to stem the worst of the floodspamming. Meaning that there will no longer be any point in making posts such as "Wohooo PostCount +1" and similar posts...

That doesnt keep people from spamming though. People will still chat, like us on here. People get mad at us, but we arent doing anything wrong. :/ Go ahead and remove post count if you guys want. Its not sweat off my back.

I voted remove both, just to get everybody off the backs of those who like to use their right to have a chat in a forum section that explicitely says even useless spam is allowed. At least nobody will be able to accuse those people of posting just to boost their post count.

The problem isn't spam threads as much as the worthless spam that distracts from the topic. I love ot have a good conversation, we just need to keep it in the correct place.

I totally agree with you there. As I've been saying keep the spam contained to a few threads in Off Topic. Spam anywhere else (including non spam threads in OT) should run a severe risk of being deleted without notice.
Unfortunately it means more work for the mods but perhaps people will take heed and not spam needlessly. As if there ever IS a need to spam....
