It is a joke that has turned quite serious!
First think, Kraftwerk meets Suicide and gets all their instruments burned by Birthday Party... and you get Avant Farte!

It started off with the 400+ fart files me and my friend Drew had on our computers (bored living in the middle of nowhere and in highschool, you do weird things) and us getting a sound program (Adobe Audition) and starting to record stuff for our actual band (60's style garage rock mixed with some punk, think the Sonics meet Johnny Thunders) and my friend was like "Oh add a fart in the background, just randomly" so I did. I then messed with the effect. Then he was like, oh god, and put it on his computer. And then we both dropped the guitar and bass tracks we were working on and started fucking around with the farts. We added all sorts of effects and looped things. Pretty much, we simply had way too much fun with it. And we then decided we would like to share our "gift" with the rest of the world. Add us if you got a myspace.

have you any german blood in you by any chance? it's the sort of thing i could imagine made by a german group. no one else would have the same twisted logic, or so i thought!

Odd. It was bloody awefull, but I still listend to all of it.
I want to start teaching myself to make electronic music. Dont spose you could "share" your program with me?

The actual background music is very cool. And adding fart noises makes is great because it's like taking a shot at lame artsy noise bands by using something stupid/funny as opposed to feedback or whatever. I approve.
